Room: Aladdin
Summary: Play 60 hours during two months at Aladdin and qualify for a huge $50,000 freeroll. Winner takes $10k plus some bling. Top 30 players paid.
Content: Management at Aladdin recently announced a huge $50,000 freeroll poker tournament. If you are planning to play 60 hours of poker in Vegas during January and February, you might consider logging those hours at the Aladdin poker room to qualify for its big money freeroll. The poker tournament is scheduled for March 5, 2006.
Aladdin bills this promotion as its “Customer Appreciation Freeroll.” The funny thing is Aladdin really does not have much loyalty among local players at the moment. This freeroll poker tourney is obviously an effort to change this; to build loyalty.
I think the idea has legs. A lot of local poker players still have not checked out the poker room at Aladdin (soon to be formally named Planet Hollywood). It is a good, well managed poker room. This freeroll can introduce a lot of new local players to the poker room and help build a strong local client base.
That said, this freeroll could work out to be a heck of a deal for poker players who qualify. I estimate that only 50 to 100 players will qualify for it. If 50 players qualify, then the $50k payout will work out to an average value of $16 per hour for each of the 60 hours a player invests qualifying for the poker tournament. If 100 players qualify it works out to approximately $8 per hour. It is almost impossible to find a poker promotion that good anywhere else in Vegas.
Don’t forget about the Planet Hollwood Tournament Bracelet that is awarded to the winner. With a retail value of almost $5k it sounds like a pretty sick chain.
Posted below are the full details of the freeroll promotion.
