Date: 11/07/05 Room: General News Summary: Palace Station opened a new 10-table poker room today, and is giving away $500 per hour to a random poker player, each hour for the next week. This is one of the best Vegas poker room promotions ever. Content: Palace Station opened a remodeled 10-table poker room today, and they’re celebrating with a gigantic bonus promotion. The rules of the promotion are simple. From 12pm-8pm each day for the next 7 days (not including weekends), every hour the poker room will select a table and seat number and award the player there $500 in cash. No strings attached. Players at all tables are eligible, even the $2/4 table. Management at the Palace Station poker room told me that the waitlist to get a seat during this promotion is “ridiculously long.” In fact, the list is so long that the poker room is not accepting call-ins to get on the list. You have to show up to have a shot at getting a seat. The good news is that every hour, after each $500 winner is chosen, about 10-15 players usually stand up and leave, meaning there is quite a bit of turnover. Palace Station is using $50,000 in jackpot money from a stud jackpot that was never hit. I’ve lived in Vegas more than 15 years, and this is one of the best local poker room promotions I’ve ever heard of.
