Could someone explain the strategy involved in a hit & run? (I understand what it is, but how does a "pro" execute it?) Thanks.

I'm wary of treading in this in case it opens up the "short-stacking is stupid" thread, but... Short-stacking NLHE is essentially unexploitable. However once your stack is no longer short you cannot short stack and must thus leave.

Hit and run is not restricted to short stackers. Some buys in full, then leave once they double up or hit some magical number.

In theory short stackers are difficult to exploit, in practice, most short stackers don't play a proper short stack strategy, and are easy to exploit.

A closely related animal is the recycler. Probably more common in places like mine, where the casinos are few and far in between.

This is probably the wrong place to discuss short stack strategies. If you want to start a new thread in the strategy section, I might be able to chime in a bit.

Yeah, I knew I was straying. I just started a new thread in the cash game strategy section & I'd appreciate your input. Thank you.

the 4/8 game has been going in the evenings for the past few days - have not seen it on day shift yet - and it has been going into grave, not sure how long
