Houston Waldie, Hard Rock Poker Director: "RESIGNS"!

Postby LasVegasMichael on Fri Oct 17, 2008 1:28 pm

Just confirmed a few minutes ago, Houston Waldie, the Hard Rock Poker Lounge Director of Poker is no longer with the company.

The staff was told he "voluntarily resigned". The rumor is that he was let go for cost cutting purposes.

This is a very interesting developement in such a young room. Anyone that lives in Vegas and is in the poker world has heard the darkish rumors concerning Houston's poker past. Some predicted that this would happen, others, like myself, are quite surprised that it occurred so soon in the rooms infancy.

I'll bet less than 50% of the people on this board live in Vegas, so spill the details already!

I live in Vegas, spend as much time in cardrooms as anybody on this forum, and have never heard of Houston Waldie before.

Some "in the know" people though surprised by the quickness of the departure certainly are not surprised of the departure in any way.

I live in Vegas and am not in the know, but I did play at Hard Rock last night, and Houston's brother Brian was still working there as of midnight (between Friday/Saturday).

There's not a lot of value in rehashing things in his past.

I don;t particularly like or diuslike the guy but he just lost his job, no sense in piling on.

Did anyone hear anymore about these "darkish rumors"? I mean really, could it be that bad? What's the word? :?

So, do they have a new Poker Director? Does any one know who is "in charge of this room".
