I have a question regarding the 1-1NL 40 Max is it even possible to play that? Is there also a 1-2 NL game going?

I have no idea, but...

Yes, when I last stopped in, about two months ago, they continued to spread 1-2 NL and apparently had that game going more frequently than the baby NL thing at that time. But they were just starting the 1-1 NL 40 Max, so it may or may not have affected their existing NL business since then. Probably not, and I'd expect they likely have one table of 1-2 NL most evenings. They were trying to promote the 40 Max to brand new novice players to make it easy for them to give live poker a try.

It's about time for me to give them a try again to see if their cash game business has picked up. If anyone beats me to it I'd appreciate it if they'd post on what cash games are active there now. I kind of miss the small stakes FL games they used to have going more regularly in the evenings, because the Strat's hotel guests tended to be fun & rewarding to play with, and I found the staff generally pleasant to deal with.

Does anyone know if they moved the poker room and if they are running the 1-1 $40 max that I read about?

I don't know the answer, but let me make a helpful suggestion. When asking if something has changed (like did they move the poker romm) provide a baseline (did they mnove the poker room since I was last there in August? Did they move the poker from where it was in 2000? Did they ever move the poker room may get different answers)

The last time I visited the Strat was this past June (June, 07). If anyone has any information on if they have moved the poker room or if they are running a 1-1NL $40 game since June of 07 I would appreciate it.

It has not yet been moved. Stopped in briefly several days ago, and they are still in that same nook behind the sportsbook. It looks like they also continue to have very weak cash game business in their old location. My understanding was that they were planning to make the move around the end of the year, perhaps in the pre-Christmas slow period.

There was one short handed table of cash NL mid evening on Monday, along with the tournament players. I don't know if it was the 1/1 game or 1/2 or what.

Thanks Rock, I appreciate all the info. I am not sure I will check it out or not. They had a decent tournament structure for a low buy in back in June, so I may hit it up for one of those.

I stayed and played at the Strat Nov 10-13. The tourney seems like good structure but antes kick in quickly so that offsets the 4000 starting chips somewhat. Still not bad though. Quite top heavy for payouts.

The 1/1 no limit never went at all, just one table of 1/2, $50 min, $300 max. Pretty loose game.

According to the floor the Stratosphere will be moving their poker room next week. It is moving to the front of the casino to a more high-traffic area.

One of the regulars was saying the new room will be right next to the valet parking entrance for the Top of the World Restaurant, but now poker players will be able to use that valet as well. No one who worked in the room actually confirmed this, though.

reason enough not to play there, sheesh.

You're a lucky man to get two RF, I thought you were only supposed to get one in a lifetime and I'm still waiting for mine.

What was the payout/jackpot at the Excalibur?

Try 20+ :)
