No mgm property is on the bravo app. clearly a corporate decision. on the bright side each room is very proactive in updating their live games on twitter.

I've wondered if it is a decision, or maybe not exactly intentional but possibly some software and infrastructure incompatibility issues that would have to be addressed, with $$$$. I notice that those casinos that are on it (at least in the Las Vegas area) also happen to be casinos that routinely track poker play as part of their overall casino player tracking; that is, poker play shows up in player accounts just like slot points do at Station, CZR, etc. Casinos that don't have poker (and for that matter the race/sports book and other things) integrated into the same system as their slot & other play aren't on the 'Bravo Live' thing either. Could be a coincidence, but does lead me to speculate that maybe there is a difference in the technology infrastructure.
If it was my casino, I'd like my system to track all of what my customers play, so I could learn things about differences in what they're inclined to do and when and where so I could market to them more effectively, if I could have that without ripping out all my existing gizmos and hiring lotsa expensive people to rewrite all the software and get it all hooked together. Remember that it was just a little while ago (measured in casino giant time - it was last year) that it became possible to swipe the card at the table at all. Before then people had to get a paper voucher weekly with an expiration date on it that the staff had to work around if folks wanted to keep it.
I do know that the company as a whole is unaware of the hundreds of hours I spent in some of their properties over the last few years, since I didn't play any slot machines. I have zero points on M-Life and so far as they know I may have died. I have my own spreadsheets with infinitely more information on what I did there than the MGM corporate office does. I'm suspecting that might not be what they'd really prefer.

I was told by a room manager that it was a deliberate decision. Though I don;t know what the basis of for the decison was ...off hand I think as a casino executive I would be vary wary of possible security issues in being in the bravopoker live system. I would be very concerned that the link between the internal bravo network and the bravopokerlive system might be an access point that a hacker could use to get player info.

except i don't think this is factually correct. I do not believe that the venetian poker comps are integrated into the overall comp system .... but they are on the bravopoker live system.

Just because the poker comps are not integrated into the same comp system as the slots/table games/books doesn't mean that the play isn;t being tracked and doesn't mean the marketing people can't cross reference it. Years ago at a casino with seperate comp systems I had a poker room manager tell me that they cross referenced the slot play with the tournament entries (you needed a players card to enter the tournaments) to see how much slot business they got as the result of a tournament series. The poker room staff couldn't look up your slot play in their system. And the players club desk couldn't look up your poker play in there system ..... but the IT people could do both.

Well that's interesting. And I forgot the counter-example of Venetian that isn't integrated in that way but does show up on Bravo. So I'll call the apparent difference in the systems integration & the Bravo thing a coincidence then.

The only MGM rooms that I see sending out cash game info on twitter are Bellagio and Aria. I was just thinking last night that it would be nice if Mirage and MGM sent out regular updates the way the V and Aria do it. MGM seems to only send out tourny stuff. I don't think I have ever seen a Mirage cash game twitter message. Or any other MGM room, other than the 2 above, for that matter. Maybe I can be enlightened on the right twitter accounts to follow?

Twitter... -Aria updates like Wynn/the Venetian does, & is basically as good as bravo. -Bellagio updates sporadically, sometimes missing days at a time. -The MGM tweets cash games sometimes, especially when they're trying to get the 6-12 mixed going. -The rest either don't tweet at all, or will only tweet occasional tournament updates or promotions.
I think the reason they aren't on Bravo is because they are either developing their own app, or they want to tie it into their MLife App (to get the extra advertising out of it). I suppose it could also be an IT problem, or have something to do with not all their rooms having on table input devices (Mandalay in Vegas for example).
I find it interesting that the Borgata which they own 50% of is on Bravo.

Aria and Bellagio are the two key rooms to report what games are being spread because they spread a lot of different games. Places like MGM is spreading 1-2NL, 2-5NL (And everyone knows that these 2 games are being spread), and they should promote the mix game or a bigger NL game if one starts up because it isn't the norm (Although they are trying to make the Mix gme the norm). MGM also tweets their tournaments daily and they tweet promos when you are playing in the room. Mirage should post if they get a mix game, possibly report on 2-5NL games, but again you pretty much know what is going to be spread at the Mirage.
