Went to Michael's today and bought a clamp style manifying light. Got home and discovered I couldn't clamp it to my desk probably due to the lamp's size/length. Ordered a more portable magnifying glass online that can clamp right onto the cross-stitch ring. That should do the job since I already have a very bright task lamp. I want to try and finish this project in time for Vegas so I can give it to my Mom as a belated Mother's Day present.
Dave, my plan is to definitely take Vegas by storm and not it take me by storm like it did last year. I would like to cash in at least 3 tourneys, but would obviously prefer to win instead.
I was thinking today about when I go back to work and am thinking I'll tell my doctor I only want to work 1/2 days for the first week I'm back because I know my people will run me ragged. I don't want to kill myself for a job. It's just not worth it. It's either that or they wait another week for me to come back because I know I won't be a 100% after one week of P.T.

Jess,
Coming back slow is a good plan, especially if people will run you ragged at work. The half days the first week might be a really good option -- might even talk to the boss about it. You can say something like, "I did a bit of P.T. and some walking while healing and I found I get really tired. So, rather than taking an extra week or so, I'd like to try coming back for half days at first until I build my strength up." Most bosses will appreciate that you are trying and will give you a bit of leeway. Also, it sets up that you tire out, so if you do then they won't be pissed off.

Fortunately, where I work is really understanding and will totally be okay with that plan. They'd rather have me there for 1/2 days than not at all. But having a doctor's note will help.

Well, I'm back to work Monday afternoon. Doc's got me on 1/2 days for the 1st week, which is probably smart. I know my people will run me ragged and I get really tired pretty quickly. Then it's only a week and a half until I depart for Vegas. Yippee!

I'll be playing in 4 BPC events on May 26, 27, 30 and June 1, a $235 2pm Daily DS at the WSOP on May 28, either the 12pm or 7pm at the Venetian on May 29 'm playing that one by ear). Nothing really planned for the 31st but would like to do another $235 Daily DS or the 1pm a the Aria. The 24th and 25th I'll just be lollygagging/shopping hanging with Mom and will probably play some cash somewhere (either Harrah's or MGM). Mom also wants to go out to Sam's Town at some point. At least, this is the plan. Hopefully the weather and my health will cooperate this year.

Good Luck and run good on both counts (horrible pun intended).
Seriously, hope your PT progresses well. I still remember my PT after an ACL repair my senior year of HS. While I definitely got tired of my therapist telling me, "Yes, you can extend (or bend) your knee more than that," I could actually extend my repaired knee farther than my "good" knee by the time she finished with me.

Thanks mcsquare. Went to PT last Thursday and the therapist showed me some exercises and said there's basically not much else to be done. He said I should just do the exercises as much as possible and slowly work the gym back into my routine. With the type of surgery I had there's really not much PT can do for me outside of the exercises I've been given. It'll just take some time to get mobility back. Until then, I'll continue with the exercises and the gym.

Jess,
Good luck with the continued comeback and the trip out to Vegas. Be sure to post a report or two so we can all read about it.
On the PT, make sure you do it and keep doing it -- if it's just stretches or light work, then do AT LEAST as much as the therapist recommends. If you feel up to it, then add in a few more reps or another set during the day. I had ACL surgery twice on the same knee -- first time had mediocre therapy and was slow getting back and weak; second time had a great therapist and came back much better and stronger. So make sure to do the work so you can come back to 100% quickly.
