I just posted a review on Amazon about Zach Elwood's (@apokerplayer) amazing new book on Poker Tells.
Here's a link to the book. Check out my review at the bottom.
Zach is a twitter acquaintance. He was kind enough to send me a transcript of his book for comments and thoughts before it hit the press. I didn't have a lot to say other than wow! Seriously, I loved Caro's book but this version on tells is so much easier to read and more meaningful. Go check it out. You can also reach him on twitter at http://www.twitter.com/apokerplayer
and no I didn't get paid anything I just love talking and sharing anything related to poker strategy.

Awesome....thanks. If you hear/see it's coming out electronically, let me know. I'd be happy to purchase it. I love reading books about the psychology of poker more so than the mathematical/technical aspects.

Vookenmeister,
Sounds good. Any idea how it compares to "Read 'em & Reap" by Joe Navarro? I've heard good things about that one and enjoyed Navarro's observations during the WSOP, but haven't gotten that book yet. Thanks!
Dave

Elwood himself said that Navarro's tells aren't poker-based like his are. Which makes sense, because Navarro is a trained FBI interrogator, which is much more adversarial than a friendly poker game. I plan on buying this book and giving it a look-see.

I put a lot of stock into poker tells and my ability to read people at the tables. That being said, I still think I have tons to learn in this area. I'm very intrigued to read this book. Hopefully it will come out on kindle soon since I'm probably on the road until the WSOP so I have no other way to get my hands on a copy other than electronically.

Definitely sounds interesting. This is an area where I am totally lacking. Although I am constantly working on my ability to read people's games and style, I have never really been able to figure out a specific tell on any player's specific move. I even practice by looking at a particular's player reaction as the cards are revealed and come up with....nothing.
Vook, as suggested, please let us know when the Kindle edition is available, that's better for me these days. I can read it on my celphone between hands!
Just ordered the book! Should have it in 3-5 days! I like how the reviews state that Zach structures the tells. I feel as though this will be a big advantage for me personally. I love Caro's book but I have a hard time retaining all of the information in a meaningful way. On a side note, I love the pictures circa 1970 in Caro's book.... They still crack me up every time I look at them!
Thanks for the find Vookenmeister! I will post after it is received and read to offer some additional feedback.
