Ryan, I did do a trip report in semi-realtime when VPN was up and running but that running blog is long gone. I should repost some of that from memory here for nostalgia's sake (like my volcanic farting session in the men's room at Caesar's Palace by the poker room).
Ah, yes, I forgot about VPN. That makes sense why I can't find it. I knew I wasn't going crazy (or more crazy than I already am).

As for drinking I always prefer bottled beer at the poker table and make sure I have a fresh one before I rack up and leave. If I do mixed drinks it seems some sort of demon inside of me comes to life and get drunker than I should (gauging ones buzz is an art). I'll give this all a bit more thought and post again later.... Regards, Lester
I usually alternate. One night its just bottled beer at the table, the next night its just rum & coke. Any deviation & I can't be held responsible for my actions.
I look forward to your posts on these subjects (especially the volcanic farting session)!

....actually I will have to post later about the volcanic farts but I just daydreamed back to a hand at Binion's from a few years ago that I thought I would post about today.
Normally on my first day in vegas on any of my trips I hold back from playing no-limit until my second day because I go totally ballistic on the free drink thing and get way more drunk that I like to be at a poker table and how bad can a guy get hurt playing $2-4 limit poker? So there I am at Binion's getting my drink on at a fairly quiet table with stacks averaging about $50 and if a pot grew to more than $20 it was a surprise. So while I am pounding Heinekins I am getting a little bored with the play at that limit table. So I decide to draw any gutshot for broadway for any flop that is a rainbow. Meaning broadway is the NUTS. Sadly the memorable hand was being played heads up against a local rock and I might have been the big blind but I do know he had position on me. The rainbow flop did produce my gutshot for broadway and it was only $2 to see the turn which was a brick and I gladly called that rock. The river hit and I had the NUTS and I check since I am pretty sure the rock is going to bet and after he did I check-raised him for $4 more! The check-raise pissed him off and after he called and I showed him my NUTS he racked up and left after cussing me out. In hindsight maybe I should have lead out on the river and let me re-raise me which I would have 3bet anyway. Or he could just call and save him self $4. But he still might have been pissed if I exercised an option-B anyhow. And finally, in all honesty that is not the first time I have made that move with a gutshot for broadway being the nuts. At a different card room I actually made that move four times in one night and hit my gutshot TWICE. Now that is RUNNING GOOD!!!!!

A more correct term in the description of this property might be "caged" instead of "gated" but it did catch my eye in a craigslist search this morning. About a block from the Strat and it looks like a 7-11 is near by so what could be better? I added a fine redline border to the property in the pic I included for clarity's sake. If you have an opinion of whether this property is SAFE or NOT SAFE please share it here....

I'll vote for unsafe although the custom painted apt numbers on the wall and the playground is a nice touch.
Seriously it would be hard to raise kids in that setting but it may be all they can afford. I'm seriously considering a permanent move to Vegas and will be checking out neighborhoods next trip. This will not be one of those tho.
lol that would be cool if you moved out here Tat, yeah if you went to those places youd have to dress like TBC and push a shopping cart out every night not to get jumped...

Been giving it serious consideration. Right now my housing costs are 5k a month and I think I'll get a better value in Vegas. It would be a big change and might not happen for a few years but I'm gonna look at some places in Aug when I'm in town.
I think I'll hire Lester as my agent. He's got a knack for finding the diamonds in the rough.
