What???? Tony wants somebody to give him something for nothing? I am shocked just shocked. He can afford a 800 dollar taxi ride but wants to be comped into a tournament that might help other people with the same problems he has.
Truthfully, Lester when he said he wanted to hang out because you sent him 25 buck, I almost threw up. I wouldnt want to hang out with someone who only wanted to do it because I sent them money. Seems like a Britni kind of thing.

i sent her a tweet if i remember correctly, if she really cared about people with autism, ud think she would been willing to stake an autistic guy into the tourney, but no. the tourny wasnt to take money from autistic people and redistribute it to autistic organizations was it? well thats how i felt when it was suggested i pay to enter. cant afford to pay to enter tourneys, only 1% of ur roll is ok to be used as a buyin. an autistic organization shouldnt be taking the money off autistic people they need to survive, they should be helping out the autistic person. ive never played a charity tourney in vegas, but isnt the payback only about 50% in charity tourneys since money is being raised for the charity? or am i wrong? that would seriously hurt me financially and make my life far worse than it is now.
now whats this on the black pimps blog that u have turned from being a friend and supporter into a "bitter enemy". his words, not mine. is that true? or can i still trust u and u still be willing to hang out and try to be of assistance in making sure i do the right thing next time u are in this area?
...ok Gutshot I fully understand where you are coming from on all counts. While I did tell Tony I understood where he was coming from I did not tell him I disagree with him on my expectation that he pony up an entry fee and play in that Karina Jett poker tournament at Binion's (the one that benefited autism). While in some cases Tony is able to think retrospectively and use past events to make intelligent decisions regarding future events I did not see the possibility of Tony rethinking his position on next year's event (if they have another one) so I let that one go.
Regarding the $25 Visa gift card you have to consider some of the alternate wiring structures in Tony's head. This of course can fall back to the "making excuses for Tony role" that many followers can slip into. I know a lot of recent posting whereever has involved con game aspects of this whole epic TBC journey but when all is said and done it is most likely my next meet-up with Tony will be at the Gold Diggers club and the Golden Nugget where we hangout on the deck and enjoy the Fremont Street Experience and I get drunk while letting Tony tell me tales of his epic journey while drinking as many cokes as he likes. My previous experience is that sitting at the same poker table as Tony is not really a very social experience ( I may recount those at a later date). So I am leaning towards a non-poker meetup hanging out at a downtown club with a deck and a nice view of FSE.

First time early on in a fast pace live tournanment I get AA on the button and MP argo guy makes it 4BB (50-100 level) so that made the pot his 400 plus SB=50 BB=100 and I make it 900 (we all have about chip avg of 5000). I know SB would fold and the BB was a young shark I thought would call or re-raise and he eyeballed me and folded. It went back around to the original raiser and he mucked. The dealer shoved me the chips and I mucked.
About 30 minutes later I am in MP and find AA which I limp into an unopenned pot and button calls as do SB/BB. The flop was a rainbow J-7-3 and BB leads out a half pot size bet I call as does the button and SB. I don't remember the turn but it was a brick of some sort. BB leads out again and I re-raise all-in (at this point I was getting short stacked in a fast moving structure) and buttton calls, SB folds and BB calls. I already know one or both of these villans has two pair. My two outer did not hit on the river so I lost to the BB's J3 which flopped two pair.
It was a $45 tournament with a 5000 starting stack and fast blinds (final table is normally after the second break which would be levels 7,8,9 for about 3-4 hours of play if you make the final table (but the whole thing turns into a shovefest in level 6). This is a morning feeder tournament which starts at 10:30am three or four weekdays normally and gets 70 to 100 players. They (Canterbury Park) used to run it as a Sunday evening (might have been late afternoon) tournament that a lot of times had 250 to 270 runners made 7th out of 260something once I think it was). A fun tournament for the money but you really need to catch some cards before the shovefest starts....

Aces, can't win with em can't win without em.....I'd chalk that up to 'just not your day'. Not a big fan of the turbo structure myself for just the reason you stated, becomes a shove fest pretty quickly. I get why card rooms run them and what more can you expect for $45.
Speaking of limping with AA....The real TBC blog is back open to the public and he had similar results with his limped AA.

Thanks for the headsup Lindy. I felt true sadness when Vince was fingered for letting Tony bet more than $50 a hand on that good VBJ machine at the "Lucky Club" the other day. SVLV might be a good nickname for Vince (St Vincent of Las Vegas). The incident at the Lucky Club would be pure gold in a counselor's office. I don't really care that Vince did or did not assume the responsibility to monitor Tony's betting level but OMG to blame Vince so clearly in the blog and make it the issue du jour. I just don't get it or I do get it and don't want to admit it but how can this groundhog's day phenomena keep its legs?

Lester, I'm staying downtown next month (been to Vegas tons of times, but always stayed on the strip). I know you stay & play downtown. Did you have kind of a live blog of your last trip somewhere on here? Or is it buried somwhere in the 20 pages of this blog? Or did you write a trip report about it? I'm trying to do some reading of other's experiences downtown (drinking, poker, drinking, poker, eating, and drinking). Thanks!

Ryan, I did do a trip report in semi-realtime when VPN was up and running but that running blog is long gone. I should repost some of that from memory here for nostalgia's sake (like my volcanic farting session in the men's room at Caesar's Palace by the poker room).
With the new Hash House A Go Go at the Plaza omg downtown food just went over the top!
As for drinking I always prefer bottled beer at the poker table and make sure I have a fresh one before I rack up and leave. If I do mixed drinks it seems some sort of demon inside of me comes to life and get drunker than I should (gauging ones buzz is an art). I'll give this all a bit more thought and post again later.... Regards, Lester
....since I know one way or another this well bubble up to the top at some point in time.

Incorrect harmful statements published about a public figure cannot be the basis of a lawsuit for defamation unless there is proof that the writer or publisher intentionally defamed the person with malice (hate).

I am not 100% certain if this is the second saturday of the month every month down by the El Cortez but if this food truck meetup event is still going on I would highly recommend it. I have not had the fortune as of yet (Minton has though and has commented here/there on food trucks).
