From what I understand, the Excalibur poker room will be modernized beginning this week! Card swipers at the tables giving a much better comp accuracy. visual wait list (no more paper list) and if you are on the wait list, they will actually be able to text you when your seat is ready. VERY COOL! I've always liked this room, but this is what they needed to modernize the room!
I would really love to see the Excalibur install automatic shufflers. With several older, slower dealers, I really think this would make a big difference in terms of hand per hour (good for both the House and any halfway decent poker player who should, on average, be able to turn a profit against the ragged competition in this room). I do like this room quite a bit, and those all sound like moves in the right direction. Thanks for the update!
Allin67, I think you may be thinking of a different room. I've been playing at Excalibur for about 10 years and they have ALWAYS had automatic shufflers. I was in there today in fact, and they now use them in there daily tournaments.
It's a lot of Fun !!! I've played there twice now. If you hit a big hand they let you spin the wheel & you will Win something. They have different amounts on there. So you hope for one of the higher amounts, of course.

I'm pretty sure that the very first time I played at Excalibur (and one of the few times ever) was also the very first time I got quad Ace's.
I won the pot of course and then spun the wheel for an extra fifty bucks.
I was pretty new to poker back then and the guy next to me told me I couldn't possible win money the way I was playing (tight at the 2/4 game). I cashed out with about $150 profit, not counting the $50 high hand bonus.
