I understand what you are saying. I did look at some areas around the North Las Vegas airport and near I95 and west Lake Mead Blvd. From those it's not a bad commute. But, the areas struck me as places that could either stay pretty nice, or decline if there are a lot of vacancies/foreclosures. In other words, they seemed like they could be a high variance place to buy into right now while the places I initially mentioned seemed like safer bets -- although it seems odd talking about "safer" bets and Las Vegas real estate.
