Are there any terms that you hear on the tables, or when you're reading about poker that you don't know what they mean? I'm just wondering what the more common unknown poker terms were?

I'd like to know what the difference is between a "smooth call" and a "flat call".
They can be used interchangeably. In essence, they are the same thing.
From the Pokerzone dictionary, they both have the exact same definition:
Verb
Under circumstances in which a raise would be expected or typical, to match all previous bets without raising; to call when one would be expected to raise.
EXAMPLE: "We were playing No Limit Texas Hold'em. I had a monster hand and my opponent raised. I decided to smooth call (or substitute flat call) on the flop in the hopes that my opponent would make a move on the turn."

One of my favorite explanations of the difference came from poker author Gary Carson (anyone know if he's still around?). I first read it in the Usenet group rec.gambling.poker, but he's blogged it here:
Smooth call and Flat call
They pretty much mean the same thing.
Flat call is probably used more often used when you're just trying to describe what happened.
Smooth call is probably used more often when you're trying to describe how smart and tricky you are. When you hear somebody use the term smooth call you might want to start looking for signs of FPS (Fancy Play Syndrome)
