Played in the 8 PM. the screen said 17 players. In fact there were probably 19 (2 tables mine was full) .... don't know if they just didn;t get around to updating the computer or if they were skimming because I busted out and left.

Competition wasn't much and I decided I was going to screw around. originally i was just going to make a few ridiculous shoves to see how the table reacted to huge overbets. On my first big blind it folde dto the small blind who raised. i folded. On the next hand there was an early position limper and it folded to me in the small blind and I shoved all-in with a naked Ace. The dealer commented that I was just angry from the last hand (which wasn't true) they folded and I did not show. On the very next hand I picked up pocket 10 10 on the button. Again i shoved and clearly the other players thought I was out of control (dealer commented again) .... so I decided that for the rest of the tournament I would have 2 moves fold or shove. I never made a bet smaller than all-in (except to post the blinds and I did check my BB once).

A couple hands later I pick up QQ and shove (and I'm hoping someone is getting tired of this now) again no callers and no one has seem me show a hand yet. Grumbling amongst the players (I'm sure someone thinks I'm ruining the game).

Fold a bunch of hands until I pick up K Q suited in late position with an early position limper. Shove all in and he reluctantly calls with 66. Flop comes 7 A A, turn is a 9 giving me a flush draw. At this point I have like 20 outs (any 7, any 9, any Q, any K and any spade except the 6 - and maybe the A can't remember if the A of spades was on the board), but the river comes 6 spades giving him the boat over my flush. Now half my stack is gone. I return to the fold or shove game and build up a little bit more until I reraise all in after the guy to my right raised. I held QJ clubs. Not a great hand ...... but I don't think he wants to call me ..... he reluctantly calls me with KJ off suit and that is the end of my tournament.

looking back i like the plays I made. In both caes where i got beat i forced players to make questionable calls for all or subtantially all of their stacks. i don't think either player should have made those calls (its not like i was shoving all in on every hand ... though at the very begining it may have looked like that, I slowed down ... I never showed a hand except the two which were called. The only mistake might have been not realizing that the guy on my right on the last hand was going to think his raise pot committed him -( it didn't).

One intersting thing is that by the second level a couple of other players made big overshoves (not every hand .... but i think I got into their heads that this was a good tactic ..... I never commented about it )

has anyone played here lately?

Yes, it is one of my favorite rooms ( I live in Vegas). Games are $2-6 spread and $1-2NL and usually soft, but don't bother playing after 10pm on weekends. They opened the "Lynyrd Skynyrd" cafe right next to the pokerroom and have Live Bands playing. You can't hear a word from your opponenets or the dealers, because the music is aweful loud.

Aces cracked,
4 of a kind (only 1 card in your hand has to play)
Str Flush (only 1 card in your hand has to play)
Royal flush only 1 card in your hand has to play)
4 deuces = $222 (two deuces in your hand)
Bad beat JP = Aces Full beaten by quads + (currently a little over $2k)
Special decemeber Promo four eights = $100 (only 1 card in your hand has to play)

Rake is $4 max + $1 JP drop

only one card has to play for the 4 of kind, straight and royal flushes. This has to the be the only room that does that. Or is there rooms that do this that I dont know about. I have always heard the excaliber games were soft, And since suring the ncaa tournament rooms are so expensive, I might stay a few of those days at excaliber since they still have super low rates at that time.

I played here in early November. The room had just suffered some water damage and was reduced to about half it's size and six tables. They had suspended the Saturday night strip poker because of that. I hope everything is fixed by now.

The "room" is about same old, same old. It's an area separated by ~6 foot high glass walls and not a closed room. The temporary wall did created one closed side. Tends to draw a lot of inexperienced players. Staff is friendly. I'll see if i have some time to write review.

Strip poker is back up and running again, although somewhat lame. Overall, I had a great time in the room! Lots of beginners but the MOST profitable where experienced guys who just simply play terrible. The 2-6 is such a narrow spread, to me it plays just like 3-6 fixed limit. Which, is fine for me since I'm a FL specialist. It's a total ram and jam game and I did pretty well. Spin the wheel is great and they have a "high hand" and bad beat jackpot too. Nice and funny dealers but the allow too much monkey business fishing for tips. The floor guys need to step in more to keep a handle on things.
