OK so a lot has happened in the 2 years since i last came to Vegas - including getting married for the second time. they say the second time is better and Ill agree with that!

My wife and i are planning a trip to Vegas from the UK this November for 10 days coming back early December. It will be her 1st trip to the city and my second.

Now we both love playing poker at sensible limits - usually 50-120 dollar tournaments and low limit LIMIT games (2-4 or 3-6). I have therefore set an appropriate bankroll for us to have a great 10 days doing what we love.. I spoke to my wife at length about the different hotels on the strip and also downtown - I stayed on the strip last time in the IP - and as glitzy rooms are not our thing (note my IP stay for evidence) my wife suprised me by suggesting we stay downtown to play our Poker and have a few day trips to the Strip when we wish.

I have an friend of a friend who stays downtown with his wife and says they always do that now. To be honest I love BJ but it has to be cheap for me to really enjoy it and downtown limits seem better... Other friends think I am completely mad however to stay anywhere other than the strip...

So i have booked into Fitzgeralds for the stay - wow what a price, very very reasonable, fingers crossed the room is clean - thats all we ask for. Breakfast is included too - thats a bonus and keeps the living expenses down!

I am a bit of a nostagia freak and the day i spent downtown last trip was awesome and the best day of the trip for me although my mates couldnt wait to leave and get back to the strip and away from the 'dump' as one calls it.

Well we are looking forward to playing the tournaments in Binions - our personal WSOP lol - and playing cheap BJ at the Fitz...

Lets face it if we decide to we can move to the strip for the last 4 or 5 days if we have had enough downtown.. I'm sure we will stay there tho and shoot to the strip when we want to play the caesars tournie etc... or the PH tournament for a change.

Its all about preference and i just thought the atmosphere downtown suited me more and was more laid back - including no girl bar / escort cards being thrown at me as I walked along the sidewalk which really wound me up on the strip.

Looking foreward to the limit games as that is not something you can play easily here in the UK and online I am actually doing really well at it so watch out I'm on my way!

Soooo excited to be coming back and this time acting as tour guide to my good lady who lets face it will probably win a tournie or something... always the way.

Flying in direct this time too - that will be better.
