Just wanted to formally welcome Dave to the AVP Forum, and we are very happy to have another poker room represented in an official capacity.
I have played at Club Fortune only a single time, and it was a very enjoyable experience. Back then it was a smoking room and was located adjacent to the pit. The photos I have seen of the new room are quite nice considering that it is a small independent casino sans hotel.
Your bust the boss tournament sounds like a lot of fun. I am actually thinking of trekking out the 30 miles I am from Club Fortune to play it next time.

Thanks for taking the time to come on to give info about the room and answer questions.

Realistically, what time do your cash game(s) (at whatever stakes - I'm okay playing whatever limit you happen to have going) usually tend to start filling up these days? By around 6ish or so on weekdays? Or later? Do you also start to open up the room at 5 on weekends, or do you get going earlier on those days?
Also, believe I have a little bit of a balance from the poker room (only the poker room) on my card there, and I'm curious if it expires if not used within some time frame. I don't recall asking if there was any cutoff period by which it had to be used or renewed, or what the answer might have been.

To be totally upfront, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday it is a totally random, but I think I am safe in saying that the table(s) start to fill up by 5.30 on those days, Friday - Monday the table(s) are full from the moment the room opens.
The floor people get there around 4pm, the room is ready to go by 4.45 at the latest.
I'm actually taking today off, I have to be on property at 5am tomorrow to do some stuff, but I will be there for the beat the boss tournament, stop by and see me and I will make sure your card is activated and anything you had coming is still there.
Thanks for the welcome Michael, it would be great if you came out, it would give us a chance to chat.
I am looking at ways to reach out to the online forums as well as our regular players and various groups around town, I understand we are off the beaten track (I live at Mt Charleston !) so some people need a little extra "push" to come visit, the $3 rake is a good incentive, but i'm sure we can come up with something more for AVP members.

Thanks. I don't know what day but I expect I'll make it in to play sometime this week.

Whatever comp balance might be on it would be pretty small and I'm not very concerned about it. I was mostly curious because in general I do tend to bank comps until they amount to something substantial, where that is possible, so I wondered if yours stay in the system indefinitely or if there is a point at which they age away, just so I'd be aware of that.
And by the way, if two a.m. was abolished I don't believe there'd be an internet, due to disuse.

After one year of no action the account gets archived, it's just a quickly of button clicks away from being active again though.
PSand, that's an interesting idea, if someone wants to get hold me me I am sure we can set up something (food, drinks, private tournament?) to make it a fun time.
You know I thought i posted this ..... but looking back i don't see it....
When i first moved out here a bit more than 6 years ago i saw an ad for this Club Fortune casino I had never heard of. I saw it had table games, but my casino chip collection did not have one of their chips. So I drove off in search of this place. When i got there I noticed a little poker room, it was a small area defined by pony walls. There were three poker tables.
So I sat in a game it was $3-$6 limit (this was before the no limit explosion anyway). Even though it was a trip for me, this became my regular place to play because I wanted a place where I would not run into the people I dealt to. Business was slow. they never got more than one cash game. They had a tournament that sometimes got two tables. The cash game was almost all regulars.
There was this one elderly woman, I can't recall her name. She was very old, widowed and had no family nearby, she was always in the game and loved to talk. She had recently lost her driver's license. So she would frequently talk about the "young girl" who drove her places. I just sort of assumed that the neighbors young daughter was doing favors for the woman and I had an image of this girl as being 18-21 years old. So one day we meet the "young girl...." in comes a woman who had to be in her 70's using a walker to get around .... yep thats the "young girl" who helped her around.
Once heads up on the river I checked raised a guy who had been very aggressive in the hand. When I showed him the nuts he got up and started screaming at me that this wasn't the Bellagio.
They ran a freeroll for a $1,500 seat in the WSOP and this was the first freeroll I ever qualified for, but i was unable to play because I got scheduled to work that day. This is one reason i am not a big fan of freerolls.
Eventually i stopped going there because it was too far away and the game didn't always last very long, plus the Aladdin opened their poker room and started spreading $1-$2 No Limit and the no limit craze started to take off.

As I hinted at, we will be running a freeroll for a $10,000 seat this year. You gain entries into a monthly tournament by just playing (1 entry per hour) and by winning a hand that is a full house or better. 10 tickets will be pulled each month, those players will play a one table tournament, the winner moves on to the final table. In May we will hold the final table, there will be 8 monthly winners plus the player with the most total hours from october 1st to May 31st, the winner get's the $10,000 seat, various other cash prizes will be given out to the other players.

LMAO, oh dear, sadly you can find this type of person anywhere, this reminds me of a story my FIL told me a while back (he plays high stakes at the Bellagio), pretty much the same thing, down to the "this isn't the Bellagio", at which point he of course stopped, looked around and calmly said "yes it is", needless to say the other player threw his toys, stamped his feet and stormed out.
Well tonight was our 3rd Beat the Boss tournament, we had 32 entries (so 2 alternates) lots of fun was had around the room, lots of laughing and joking around (mostly aimed at me) first place paid over $400, not bad for a $40 entry and two hours of play.
Our FB department went a little nuts, for snacks they served us sliders, chicken wings and a variety of sausages on rolls, good old fashioned football food, earlier this week in an attempt to keep some of our guests alive for a couple more years we did put out a salad and fruit bar, though 20 minutes later after having to endure a bit of good old fun name calling it was decided that our guest prefer their food hot...Preferably deep fried... Oh well back to chicken wings etc
Anyways, after a 16 hour day I am taking the next couple of days off, if anyone wants to swing by the room, ask for Chad or Dan, they will be more than happy to answer any questions you may have or feel free to post on here, I will be checking in from time to time.
