Registration has been open for over a week already, as they have been running donkament satellites, with $10 buy ins. As of this past Sunday night, they already had around 25 registered.

They think that there are going to be at least 120 players.

So it's either going to be an overlay or a full room I guess.

Mike do you know when they're starting registration?

Actually 80 is the players equity break even point.

Didn't mean overlay there (overlay is below 80. What I meant is 101 is when the prize pool grows again)

Maybe I've not understood the terminology correctly, but I always thought an overlay meant that part of the prize pool was coming from some source other than the players. If it's $100 + $25 with a $10k guarantee, then isn't there an overlay (using my definition above) if there are less than 100 players?

Your logic is correct but you are forgetting the $25 juice you pay, so the correct answer is 80 from the player's perspective (80x125=10K)

I don't know if you mean the PF as opposed to M, but it calculates out to 18.98 which is off the end of the Snyder scale. Definitely a ton of play, you could fold for two hours solid and still have an M > 14.

Hey Guys, glad to see the room and the 10K tournament is being talked about. My name is David Scarano, I am the poker room manager at Santa Fe. Sorry I didn't know there was a thread already posted about this, otherwise I would have just jumped in instead of post my own. If I haven't already met you formally, come up and introduce yourselves the next time you are in the room. I will answer any questions about the room or current promotions and will try to log on once a week or more.

It's very similar to Venetian's structure for their evening tourney, but has higher antes and it removes the 1500/3000 and 3K/6K levels and substitutes a 5K/10K level. But Venetian's rounds are 20 minutes and these are 40. I think it'd play better in spots if they mirrored Venetian's structure more closely. Being that harsh with the blinds going from 1K/2K to 4K/8K is nasty--what Venetian does in 4 levels they are doing in 2. But hey--if you make it through that you get more time to play in the last few rounds.

But this looks pretty good, particularly with 40 minute levels, and because it's $125. It's going to take a long time to complete with T1M in play.

Oh... and you're gonna need a bigger boat. It might not be done at 10K/20K/3K if they get 100+ players. Don't make plans to be home by midnight.
