Yea.

There's a typo in there. Grey is the new Red. Or Red is the new Grey.

Also, the drawing takes place at 10 AM the following day, NOT 3 PM.

Hope you guys don't mind but I'm going to post a link to a 2+2 thread about our party we're having tomorrow. I'm heading to dinner and don't have the time to type it in personally.

Party starts tomorrow (thursday) and 5 PM to kick off the Detox Series:

Here's the official scoop on the moving of the room:

The new room opens September 3rd. For those of you that know the Hard Rock layout, we'll be more or less on the main floor, in a side room that used to house the Helle's Bells pit. Prior to that it was the Peacock Lounge. It's next to Wasted Space, and overlooks the casino floor. Wasted Space is also being renovated soon in to the new Sports Book.

The new room will have 8 tables, a bar, and restrooms. There will be no downtime between the old room closing and the new room opening.

Hope everybody makes it out to the Detox series and the opening of the new room.

Has the room shut yet or is the tournament schedule on their website still good? I'll be in town on the 7th Sept for a few days and fancy a couple of them.

Still open as of last night. I beleive there will be no down time between closing and opening new room. Some tourneys don't happen because they don't get enough players. Sorry to see the old room close.

The room is still open, though it's missing some tables. The tables have already been moved and set up in the new room. There won't be any significant down time during the transition.

We move September 3rd. If you drop me note a few days before your trip I'll let you know what the turnouts for the tournaments have been.

I did a pretty good walk through of the new room yesterday. I think it's going to be a big positive. It's smaller and better designed as far as seating players and running chips. The tables are tighter than the old room but not nearly as tight as Bellagio's. There's 2 unisex bathrooms in the poker room, and they're private (1 person.) There's also normal bathrooms just around the corner. There's a bar in the room. It over looks the pit and center bar and has a ton of walk by traffic. And I think the lighting will be better (The lighting wasn't finalized when I was in the room.) The list attendant podium is actually slightly outside the room and on the main path.

And most important, at least to the people who come to the Hard Rock for the experience, it's close to the party. That's important. I've always felt the old poker room was incongruent with the feel of the rest of the property. The room had pretty loud music, but it was far away from the 'seen and be seen' scene. I know most locals want a quiet room, but the people that come to the Hard Rock are generally there to drink and party and do a little gambling. I'd bet the games will inherently be better and more populated with drunk, young tourists...

Came by for the rest of the month to do the "4 for $40" and complete my 50 hours for a $200 ticket. Ooops! No more "4 for $40"! It's 2am (Sat) and where am I going to go? Well, I still need 20 hours for the rest of the month so I'll stay and play and at least I can get a free breakfast (Ooops! No more free breakfasts either!)

OK...I'm hoping for a great new room...I'm also hoping to be one of the players, I think it can be the bomb (is that said anymore?). However, last night (Friday night/Saturday morning) there were only 2 tables and they couldn't be kept full because of the lack of enough local (backbone) players. Hopefully, the "4for$40", etc. is not history because then so might be your locals. (For further insight into what I recommend to keep locals see yesterday's post on Harrah's discussion forum.)

But Hard Rocker, no matter what, we are still on for Fuentes!

Hope the new room works out. I played here last night at the 7pm. I was just doing it for fun but it started over an hour late and the structure was bad. I have always been a fan of the room since day one but the tourneys this year have not been good , hopefully this will change.
