So much for 24 hour joints

Went out last night looking for some place to eat. I had gotten word about the 2:1 deal at lots of the Station casinos restaurants and decided to check out Sunset Station. Also tried a few different locals and most were no goes. Seems lots of places are now closing up late at night or not serving food thanks to the economy. This is a small sample size and I hope this isn't the beginning of a nasty trend in Vegas/Henderson.

http://www.stationcasinos.com/dining2for1/ when clicking on Sunset clearly shows Oyster Bar open nightly from 4pm to 11pm. It is not, it closes at 10. It was 10:05 when I got there.

Headed down the road to a Village Pub near Wildfire Lanes (formerly Sunset Lanes). There were 2 cars in the lot and the doors were all locked, no one answered the buzzer. It says 24 hours.

Crossed the street to Barley's which has a brew pub and cafe open 24/7. Cafe now closed from 10pm to 8am.

Went down the street further to another Village Pub owned bar, but I forget the name, not even a car at the place, looked closed, so didn't go in.

Finally got to another Village Pub at Eastern and Sunset that I stopped at it and low and behold it was open! 3 people in the bar, but the food and drinks were very good.

what about strip or downtown casinos......do they still have at leat a 24/7 cafe going???

The problem is that locals are not going to want to drive onto the strip just to eat late. I'm sure that a lot of places on the strip are 24/7, but the places for the locals just aren't open.

Walked into a PTs Pub the other night. They advertise a happy hour with 50% of pizzas from midnight to 4AM. Problem the one i went to doesn't serve pizza at that time.

I don't mind so much that they aren't open or aren't serving food. I'm annoye dthat they are still advertising that they are are open or serving food.

AZ charlies on Boulder started closing there cafe on weekday nights. But the billboards advertising 24/7 steak and eggs special remained for months. I found out because I stopped in after work wanting the special and found a dark cafe.

Actually i seem to remember being downtown and finding a bunch of closed cafe's. I think Binion's is no longer serving food 24/7 in the coffee shop.

Earl of Sandwich is open 24/7 in Planet Hollywood. I was in there at 4am almost every night a few weeks ago.

Luxors Deli is open 24 hrs now while the cafe is not. I think at IP Burger Palace is 24 hrs but not the Teahouse. I didn't see anything open 24 hrs at Rio in Feb.

well that sucks how can i sober up before my 4 am nap if i can't get my steak,eggs and cheesy hashbrowns?? :lol:

That sucks. I like to take those early morning naps before the fam wakes up and heads down to the pool.mmmmmmmmmm cheesy hashbrowns!
