In May 08 stayed & played at Holiday Inn. HI had more & better games, but Raddison much nicer hotel. In May 08 Occidental also opened a 3 table section, only 1 1/2 game played each night
Where are u staying ?
On that stretch of beach, all hotels within 5-10 min walk of each other

Just returned from a week in Aruba with the family and played one session of poker. I stayed at the Hyatt, which I believe is the nicest on Palm Beach, and played my one session here. Hyatt deals $2/$5 NL only. I only saw one table ever going but I was there in the off season. Holiday Inn has a nightly 7:00 pm tournament with mostly locals and a low ($10 - $20) buy-in which can get more players there. Holiday Inn also spreads $4/$8 LMT and $2/$5 NL. This is mostly a locals casino with some tourists sprinkled in. Key point for all hotels is that poker really doens't get going, except for the HI tournament, until about 9:30 - 10:00 pm each night.
For my session at the Hyatt the mix was about 50/50 locals and guests. This was the worst competition I have ever played against in my life yet despite that I managed to lose $200. I played very tight waiting for a good hand to clean up with but only had a pair twice in 4 hours and AK once.
As for the room at Hyatt the tables and chairs are poor but clean. The management is horrible but this is not a big focus of the casino.

I played several times at the Hyatt back in August 2007. I agree about the poor competition. It is a very loose game. Advice is to wait for solid values and either push the action or let someone else push the action till you get them pot committed. Game was 50/50 locals then and my opinion was the locals were the worst players. There was one guy who played every night that kept falling asleep at the table every night. The dealers kept having to wake him up to play his hands. I didn't mind as I was sitting to his left and he never bluffed.

oh yeah... and I think back then it was actually $5/$5 with two big blinds instead of a small blind. I guess that has changed. They also had $2/$4 limit but I only played NL.
