I'm still on the bases, but studying my footballs too!
I have no interest in the pre season.... The Colts will pretty much lose all of their games, but these games are a real crap shoot other than the Colts... Let me know when the first week starts and when college football starts. Then it will be worth watching.
On the Colts Peyton Manning will not be playing any preseason games, and from the sound of it (they say that recovery on his neck is taking longer then expected),maybe not even the start of the season..The owner was joking on twitter about getting Favre(man I hope this was a joke),anyway without Manning it will be a long season for the Colts.
NFL season starts September 8-12 its a Thursday
College football starts Thursday September 1st
I read Crist starting quarterback for Notre Dame (i read it as Christ starting QB for ND and thought well that sounds about right...LOL)
The signing of Kerry Collins is not a good sign for Manning. If Peyton was really 100% healthy and they were just resting him, they would not sign a QB. The early signing of Kerry Collins means Manning has some issues with the neck.
Manning was pretty smart to sign that massive contract now. Interesting how you really heard nothing of his injury and inability to recover in time for the season when his contract was being worked on.
What I can't wait for is the trips I have planned for Vegas (health permitting, I am recovering from cancer treatments as everyone here knows) to sit in the Las Vegas Hilton theater and waste money on parlay cards and just bet away. Not counting the things I do with my kids, I am at my happiest sitting in a sportsbook watching football and betting. I am not a big time gambler, I just bring about $400-$500 with me and if I lose it (never have yet on football. Poker, well that is a different story!) then so be it. I love the selection of bad food at the Hilton and usually eat like an emaciated donkey when I am there. I represent with my Eagles' jersey and am just as happy as I can be.
Any other good sportsbooks I should be looking at? The key for me now is getting a seat guaranteed or I really can't go. Cancer destroyed my right ankle so they had to amputate it and I am months away, at a minimum, learning to walk with my prosthetic, which is hard to get used to. I love Mirage, but I need a seat and they are always mobbed. I heard good things about Mandalay Bay. Any thoughts?
Hey Vinnyboombots, sorry to hear about your health problems, hope everthing is going good and you get to take them planned trips.
Your Eagles might be fun to watch this year..
As far as sports books go LV Hilton is a good one (in my book),as long as u get to any sports book an hour or so before the games start you should have no promblem getting a seat..
Mandalay Bay is a good one ,but just like Mirage they are mobbed during football(I think almost all books are) maybe the IP,Bills,Flamingo,Hooters,Harrah's,might be a little slower, but they are smaller rooms and not as nice.
Not sure, but if you stop in ealry to the book you want to watch the games at make your bets, let them know that u need a seat, and maybe they would reserve a seat for you.
Only 6 days till NFL starts can't wait, plus I have not seen the spreads yet,but I do like GB and the over on thur vs NO,will see what spread is but I'm sure that will be my first parlay...
good news Bodog has change their parlay payouts.....on parlay bets they will be paying out based on true odds.......this should mean alittle bigger payouts...let the fun being.....
fatb, just take the Packers to win the NFC and the Pats the AFC. Packers as SB Champs. no i am not a packer backer.lol r u coming to AVP Oct meet? Brian and i r going to LVH on Sunday. its a great place 2 watch games.
