I never planned a trip like this before. And have an offer for a few nights at the Monte Carlo on the strip. I was wondering if I called them and said I am interested in the 3 nights, would they help me get a flight (Round trip) or would I need to get with a travel agent of some sort? or is it best just to do the flight planning on my own.
They might look at a package deal for you through southwest or another airline, but they will not look hard. My suggestion would be to look yourself for the best price. go to southwest, allegiantair, expedia, hotwire etc. If you are talking also that your nights are comped, then dont even bother asking them about flights, because they will just pick an airline, and probably tell you what the price is with no discount or special deal.

This is great advice. Just book your own flights. It will be cheaper.

Book your own flights always cheaper. Its always cheaper going directly to the Airline of your choice. Allegiant Airlines is the cheapest in my neck of the woods by a good margin.
If you either gamble in the pit or run a lot of $ through slot machines then get a host, show her your airline ticket bill, and you may get it refunded. Of course, you'll need to gamble enough for the casino to be willing to do this, but the threshold is probably lower than you'd expect. I know a local who was given $300 for "travel expenses" and all he did was play poker, bet sports, and go into the pit with green chips once a month.
If you know for a fact that you'll be doing a lot of gambling, it's probably worth your while to call and ask for a host ahead of time. If they tell you they'll cover your airfare in return for X amount of action, then you can fly first class for free provided that you do the required gambling.

Ian is right! Casinos are not big fans of poker players lol. If you plan on spending a lot of time in the pit then I would definitely talk to them about it otherwise I'd just find your own flight.
