Lobos got a bad draw, the 5-12 matchup against Long Beach State, who many picked as a surprise team in the tourney. Of course, as a Lobo Law grad, I will be rooting hard for my boys! Go Lobos! Woof woof woof!
New Mexico has a difficult draw but they are clearly the one Mtn West team that could get to the second week of the tournament.
Colorado ST is losing in the first game. I don't like San Diego St in the their first game. UNLV has a favorable match-up in their first game and have a slim chance to get to the second week.
Of course three ACC teams were picked to the elite 8 and 2 were common picks for the final four.... Yappy I didn't see any Mtn West teams out that far....

New Mexico is the hottest team in the west right now and have been for over a month. They've got all the tools for a deep run with a beast at the 4, loads of great shooters, and tenacious defense.
SDSU has been overachieving all year and have the MWC player of the year who is as clutch as Kobe. He's hit several buzzer beaters already this year and Steve Fisher has proven he's still a genius coach.
UNLV has the best players and athletes in the conference, but the rookie coach is causing them growing pains. When they shoot well, they'll beat anybody, but a smart team will make them play a half-court game. I don't see Colorado nor Baylor able to do that. Just imagine a Duke/UNLV rematch 20 years later with Coach K still there against a UNLV player-now coach.
Colorado State doesn't have the players nor talent to be in the tournament, but they show up, hang around, and make plays game after game. They will be a tough out because of this.
This is the first year all the MWC making the tournament have been battle tested all season long - thus I wonder how it play out for them. We shall see.

At least 2 go down in the first round. New Mexico's opp in the first round might be the hottest team in the West. I will laugh if the Mtn West goes 0-4... Could happen, but I doubt it will. Still this should be a pretty ugly tournament for the Mtn West overall.
Mtn West showing why they are a second rate league in the tournament. UNLV goes down to Colorado. PAC 12> Mtn West.... How sad..... Plus Murray St destroyed Colorado St....
5th place ACC team, North Carolina State beats the 1st place Mtn West San Diego ST in the opening round... As I said, the Mtn West sucks... Congrats on going 1-3 in the first round. ACC is 3-2 right now.
