Ok...I tried 3 buffets while I was in Vegas. I went to Palace Station....which for the money I found to be extremely good value wise...the food was above average and fresh. I know it was only 6.99 for lunch....and that is great! Then I tried the Rio Carnival World. For the price, I was NOT impressed at all...the food seemed out of the box yucky. Maybe I'm picky but when I pay $18 for a buffet...it better be special...and this weren't!
THEN...I went to the Mandalay Bay buffet. It was SO nice atmosphere wise....very secluded type of setting. The food was incredibly fresh...like it just kept coming off the grill. The lunch was outstanding...for $15.99 price that I paid at 10:45 AM, getting the breakfast price was a bonus. The desserts were above average but not off the hook...but the food on the bars just ....I don't know...rocked my sox off!
Anyway...this is just my $.02 and if it helps anyone...great! I know that the next time I am in Vegas I will be heading to this spot for a lunch or three!
I agree! I love the MB Buffet...they bring out small portions and constantly restock. For the price I think it is incredible value for money. I love the MB full stop. Plenty of room in the casino...not as smokey as most, regular drink service, great restaurants and bars, nice rooms, friendly staff and spotless restrooms. cheers aces

I also love the Mandalay Bay buffet and don't think it gets enough credit. Their prime rib is one of the best I've had on a buffet and my husband still talks about a steak with Spanish sauce they had on one visit. I also love the atmosphere and the price isn't bad. Good to see MB getting some love!
I keep hearing that all the food outlets have gone down hill at the Rio and don't like to hear this because we are planning on hitting up the seafood buffet there and for $38 hate to get old dried out food.............anyway after reading this we may have to give the MB beffet a try,i have talked to others that said it was a good one...
I think Mandalay buffet would rank 3rd or 4th. I would put it behind the Wynn, and Bellagio, although it is cheaper and one could argue the value you get from it makes it just as good. PAris is also in the dicussion.
