The wife and I will be coming to Vegas Sept 30-Oct 5 and staying on the strip. Can anyone give me some tips for meals that wont entirely break the bank on the strip. We've been here before and really enjoyed Maggiano's,Earl of sandwich and Mon Ami Gabi. Any other places would be greatly appreciated

No matter where you go, please check out restaurant.com for all the great discount certificates there. IE: $25 for $10, sometimes they send email offers for up to 70 or 80% off the discount price as well. Lots of stuff showing up on the strip like Mandalay Bay, Hash House, and more.

Great advice , I've bought a ton of coupons on restaurant.com over the years. I haven't seen any 70-80% offers for around a year. I was wondering what was going on. I was looking to buy more for my upcoming trip. ( I still have about 10, looks like those will have to do)

Oh, do tell. Hope I wasn't in her incident.
We had just left Mon Ami Gabi after a late dinner and decided to take a tour through the IP as we had never been inside. We walked up the roadway from the strip and just as we were about to enter a group of 4-5 younger women came stumbling towards us. As luck would have it the one closest to my wife decided this would be a good time to get sick. My wife screamed as this woman threw up on her dress.Needless to say we didnt step foot in the IP and she was forced to walk the strip back to MGM b/c 2 cab drivers would not let her in their vehicles.Even though it was not the the fault of the IP she still refuses to go there.

Well, thanks for telling; you know a Las Vegas "incident" of an indeterminate nature is just impossible to resist asking about. Sorry for your wife's distinctly unfun time. I'd have suggested putting Hash House on the list too, but I'd have to admit that isn't a very unusual sort of event at IP, so she isn't exactly being misguided in her impression of the place by her encounter with a group of trashy out of control moronic drunks. If you make a solo meal trip, I find those 'puke on myself' (and anything around) IP guests are uniformly absent (by absent I mean upstairs in their rooms moaning in hungover pain) during breakfast hours, and Hash House stuff makes for good breakfast fare & they start serving at seven, so there it is if you're up and hungry while the wife is neither. You can stuff yourself pretty well for about ten to fifteen bucks off their breakfast menu.
