Hi,

I haven't eaten at any of these yet and neither is quite on the strip, but I've heard good things about these 2 places:

Origin India (4480 Paradise Road, near the Hard Rock)
http://www.originindiarestaurant.com

India Oven (corner of Paradise and Sahara, near the Hilton -- or the H as it's now known)
http://www.indiaovenlasvegas.com

Dave

Ghandi - Paradise & Flamingo (very good, and reasonably priced)

Gaylord's - inside Rio (good, but VERY overpriced).

Never went to Gaylord's, but it looks like it's gone from the Rio, or at least I don't see it in their restaurant listings any more. In any case, you're better off going to Gandhi, terrific food at wonderfully reasonable prices. I go there all the time.

Gandhi is great for traditional Indian. If you're feeling a little adventurous, Origin India has superb cuisine that I call "gourmet Indian" (no idea what they like to call it). The dishes are a little fancier, not the typical items you see at most Indian restaurants like Gandhi, but the food is excellent. I love it and wish I could go more often, but it's definitely pricier. You can see the price differences for yourself, as both restaurants' websites post menus.

India Palace on E Twain is very good if a little overpriced.

Mint Bistro on E Flamingo is very good also, although I prefer the naan at India Palace.

Origin India used to be my go to Indian food, until I found the two above.

Most of the Indian restaurants have groupons and in house bonus buy gift certificates etc So if you are going in without a discount, the food can seem expensive.

Based on smell, 100% agreement.
