I have been looking for Joe Bundas for several months... His FB account was closed, his cell # is disconnected and no answer on emails or PMs here and elsewhere I have feared the worst
Upon googling him I stumbled upon what looks to be his passing.
This matches his name and date of birth which I knew was exactly 4 months before mine... So I fear the worst and I'm saddened. I hope someone here can deny this but I fear....
I was one of the ones that participated in staking him in the WSOP. I am so sad to read this and so glad I did get a tiny piece of fullfilling one of his last dreams. RIP Joe.
yeah, so, so sad.... It devastated me today... Esp. coz I'm also 39 and kind of felt close to him for that stake drive we did... Carpe diem people, carpe diem... it's true. Go and hug your kid today or play poker or make love, do something that makes you happy today, and always.

I met Joe the Rio when I gave him the money that the AVP community so generously contributed so he could play a WSOP event. He minimized his illness (even though he was feeling really bad) and was thrilled and grateful that he was given the opportunity to play a WSOP event as it was one of his dreams. It's nice to be a part of the AVP community and know that we touched someone and helped them live out a dream in their last months. I know his wife was really touched by the generosity of the group. RIP Joe.
