I am sorry to the TBC's blog was locked before I got to say farewell, so I guess this will have to do.
I find it sad and ironic that Tony is moving his blog to a site that spent a considerable amount of effort and energy in trying to keep him away at the beginning. They had a whole TBC containment section, ready to quarantine Tony along with containment strategies as if they are the Disease Control Center waiting for the next flu epicdemic. I haven't been looked at their forums lately so I don't know if the attitudes have changed, but I wish Tony the best over there, hopefully it will give him what he is looking for.
I have been following the TBC saga for close to 2 years now, and will miss it. I probably will still read his blog on the other forum, but I don't know if I want to post there. It had the feel of a private club when their forum first started, and I wouldn't want to just participate in Tony's thread on a site. Elitism and hypocrisy are the two things that drives me crazy, I feel conflicted.

I find it amazing how many people feel the need to take "sides" on which site they will read and/or post on. I like both sites, read most all postings (I avoid the TBC garbage), and feel i have a good relation with people representing either site. Both AVP and VPN have their merits. It almost feels like junior high and having to choose which group you will be in...lol....I'll continue to post on both and wish hope both do well.

I read Tony's blog b/c it was interesting to hear his stories. I find it funny that he was convinced to start posting over there when initially they has a lot of debate over to whether even let him post over there. Evidently, the traffic TBC creates, good or bad, is better than no traffic.
Personally, I tried following that site as I enjoyed Yappy's blog when he discussed poker. I also enjoyed AlaskaGal's and OD's short-lived blogs here on AVP. But, I soon noticed that even though those people had blogs over there, they never updated them. I think Yappy went almost a month w/o an update and he's one of the owners. If an owner doesn't have the time to post, why should I bother checking?
Also, as with PokerDogg, I get an Us vs. Them feel from that site. I think OD even makes a remark on their front page about how THEY put money into the last AVP meet up and how they pointed out that no "upper mgmt" at AVP attended the latest meet.
I don't plan on following TBC over there and I guess I'll get some time back. I'd really like to contribute more here and read more strategy sections. Plus, I've always liked this site b/c there is no name calling and you get constructive critism and advice instead of beinc called a "spewtard" or worse...like anothe popular site. That's was makes AVP fan friendly.
Hopefully, the loss of TBC wil bring back some of our better posters...RedRight88 amongst others. Also, I really the current bloggers and their exploits. JJ being back, Amerbius (sp?), and DonkeyTax...interesting reading...keep it up.
Unfortunately, I'm sure TBC will be back here very soon. I'll take the under.

I can only speak for myself. It is not so much about taking "sides", it is more about what kind of community a site portrait itself to be, and how welcome one may feel in that community. I did check out the VegasPokerNow forum when it first started, and I just got the impression, rightly or wrongly, it was like the in crowd in a junior high, figuring who should and should not be let in. I would have joined in a long time ago if there wasn't an entire section set up to contain All Things TBC. It just didn't feel right.
May be I was wrong, and may be it was just a phase the site was going through. I hope TBC does well over there, and I hope VPN does well as a forum and as a business. Personally, I feel conflicted, and I don't know if I will join VPN or not, but that's just me.

exactly my favorite thing about this site. I do contribute on other forums but I only when I can't find enough material here. Please chime in on the strategy sections.. hell, make up an imaginary hand if you like. hell, create an imaginary blog... I'll read it

So now he gets full editing rights over there which basically means he can delete comments, amend them etc.....what garbage!!!
He gave no pertinent info here anyway regarding hand selection, pot size, stack size, etc....
He never took advice unless it was from a pig scammer girl, etc....
Gone and forgotten.
I scrolled back 90 days in Tony's now defunct AVP blog and from Aug 19th 3am (page 666) to Nov 19th the post count was 2568. Which seems close to the 20 posts per page config setting. That produces a PPD (posts per day) average of 28 posts a day. What would be the over/under on Tony's blog at the other site having 1800 posts before Feb 19th? Considering there are only 4684 post there right now that would put Tony at possibly contributing 25% of the total post volume there?

One thibg that a lot of people may not realize, especially those who do not live in Vegas is that the AVP/VPN circle is made up from close friends, who torment each other to no end. A lot of times when that good natured ribbing is posted on web boards, sarcasm doesn't traslate well, so people see it as name calling and whatever. I consider myself good friends wth Las Vegas Michael, Yappy Dave and OD, and the way that we make fun of each other is brutal, but all in fun. I don't believe VPN has a "cool crowd" attitude. Just a site by people who have different ideas of how to run one. I still read and post here, and will continue to do so. I encourage everyone to do so as well, there is no reason to chose sides. I personally am not happy about TBC crossing over to the other site, but that was not my decesion to make. It really doesn't matter where he posts, as we have all seen he just repeats the same crap over and over. But he does drive traffic, and let's be real. No one starts a web site for free, and no one expects to lose money every month. It IS a business. I personally moved my blog over to the other site becuase I believe in what they are trying to accomplish and I wantedd to show my support for their venture. It had nothing to do with being angry/upset/insulted with AVP. I will admit to being overly frustrated with the whole TBC infestation and I felt having a blog here wasn't necesary any more, especialy when you counldn't control certin aspects of it. This site will always a be a great one to talk about the game we love. And there is plenty of room on the interwebs fro both sites.
