Finally played at Lauberge yesterday. Here is my review:
The property is really nice looking, but the casino itself was not as nice as the rest of the property. I knew the poker room didn't have that many tables thought it had 8 but it actually only has 7), so I got to the casino a little after 3pm. All 7 tables were running (5- 2/5NL games, 2 4/8 Limit games). The 2/5 List had 20 names on it when I got there, and the 4/8 List had about 6 names. They also had a full list for a 2/5/10 PLO game which they couldn't spread considering the lack of tables. I went and got a players card and killed a little time playing blackjack. After about 45 minutes to an hour I got called for the 4/8 game (Put my name on both list figuring I would get called for 4/8 first. Played about 45 minutes to an hour. Game was soft- Finished up over $100 (Good profit). Moved over to the 2/5NL game. Love the rules they have. You can buy-in up to the chip leder at the table. Leader had easily over 3K actually felted him later in the night), and I came in for alomst $1000. First hand I hit a nut flush and I was never stuck in the game. Within 90 minutes I had it up to 2.8K. From that point I was between 1.6K and 3K. I cashed out for 2,350 after playing for roughly 9 hours. PLO game never got going- was interested to see who was playing and how deep the game got.
Tables were pretty good. A little worn out. Chairs were pretty good. Drink service was similar to Vegas. (Alcohol appeared to be free- I drank water mostly and had a coke as well.). Drink service was fast. The noise was pretty loud from the casino although I had my ipod going for the majority of the session, so if you don't like noise the room might be an issue. Also if someone was smoking (CIGARS is what you could really smell) right outside the room you caught the smell. Comps- $1/hr- nothing special. The action was good although you could get away with your fair share of position raises and punish the limpers. It worked well in the start of the session and a couple of stacks avoided my position raises as the session went on. Cash doesn't play so we had every chip on the table from $1- $1,000. In fact it was rather funny at one point I wanted to color up $500 in red for 5 blacks and the brush said they were out of blacks and brought me a $500 chip instead. I already had $1,500 in green. Odd.
Good room overall. If anyone is in the area it is worth checking out and playing.
The drive is about 2 hrs and 15 minutes for me from Houston so it is roughly 30-45 longer than my drive from San Diego to Commerce. It was about the limit I could stand after a 9 hour session. Plan to go back in May, but I figure to spend the night out there although not at the hotel itself because weekend rates were over $300 a night.

Last weekend put in another 8-9 hour session in their 2-5NL game. I am very liking this room. Bought in for $1,250 (Chip leader was 1,300). Cash out at just over 2,400. Drive is really painful coming back at night. I really should look at getting a hotel when I make the trip.
Anyone in the area should really play at Lauberge if they have a clue about deep stack cash game poker. 2 of my previous post recap winning sessions of $1,350 and $1,150. I had one losing session mixed in between those where I lost $750. This past weekend I went back for the first time in 2 months and I lost $100 playing 4-8 while waiting for a seat to open up (They only have 7 tables in the whole room, so the list can be quite long), and then after a 9 hour session of deep stack 2-5NL I finished up $2,200 for the session. So for 4 trips my net profit has been $3,950. May go back this Saturday if I can stand the drive. The drive home just kills me. If not possibly next month, mid-month.

Wow, nice Clem! I used to go to Lake Charles back in the Players Casino and Isle of Capri days. Haven't seen Lauberge yet, but the players there have always been so bad! Keep it up!
