A lot is changing at the Tropicana. The Jamie Gold room has opened. Local grinders are getting up to 12 dollars per hr to play. But the real surprise is the arrival of Tony Capps. Capps is bringing his Team 5 players along with celebrity Howe Locke to host a weekly Friday deep stack tournament. Who is Tony Capps? Tony Capps is a professional games player who has traveled the globe. He has made a comfortable living playing backgammon,darts,blackjack,poker from NYC to the Red Sea. From high stakes Poker games with Tex King to getting kidnapped in Caracas. Capps has led a true gamblers life. Always humble Capps says he is a man of the people. You can meet Tony Capps at the Tropicana on Fridays starting March 30th.

I remember hearing about him in Miami. He used to play backgammon. Herd there was some trouble in Caracas. Dindnt know about the kidnapping. Wow

He won money from the wrong guy in Margatria island off the coast of Venezuela. They were playing backgammon 200 a point. Capps won over 10k. The guy invited him to play a rematch in Caracas. This is when the kidnapping took place. Thanks

I guess the poster missed the part about Tony Capps hosting a tournament at Trop starting 3/30. He is more than happy to answer any questions about his past. In fact he is currently in the process of completing two books. One book is about his world wide gambling exploits. And the other is a philosphy book "The Universal Man".

It seems that this is all true. I checked the website and the tournaments start Friday night the 30th of March and run for 10-weeks. Celebrities galore and a $100 nightly bounty on 'Mr. Fabulous.'

But here is the most incredible part, they are giving away seats to both the 2012 WSOP and the Venetian DSE. 1sr, 2nd and 3rd place (best four cashes) over the span of the 10-Friday night tournaments ($100 + $20 buy-in + $10 optional staff bonus for 2K additional chips) wins a $1,000 seat to the WSOP. 2nd and 3rd place each win a $400 dollar seat to the Venetian DSE.

I am heading for the Tropicana!

I don't know for sure, but I think I heard of the Tony Capps operating in and around the Black Sea area. A good friend of mine won the Black Sea Poker Championship a couple of years back and the word on the street was that this Tony Capps fella had game.

I seem to remember something about him playing poker for his life (talk about high stakes)!

I have to meet this guy!
