Last night's 4/8 was a completely different set of players than the 12/24 game. It was the off duty Wsop dealers that started it. Basically the same group that was at Orleans in years prior.
I was actually surprised they went with Aria over Orleans since Orleans is easier to get to and offers a $3 Max rake with no jackpot in mixed games, but Aria would probably be much quicker to start the game versus Orleans.
I do not know what the Aria 4/8 mixed was last night.
Have been spreading the word with the WSOP dealers that late at night we are willing to do a low limit mix game for them (and others of course), with a max rake of $2 at TI. Being they won't get their first WSOP paycheck till June 9th they have not been gambling as much just yet. Trust me, next Thursday they'll be running to cash those checks and get some poker on.

Last time I was in town I sat at a game at the Rio and 30 min into it I had gauged by conversation I was sitting at a table with all dealers. Forgive my naivety, but are most dealers players (fiends ) as well?

Most any dealer usually plays as well, if they enjoy the game enough to deal it, why wouldn't they want to play when they can? And as a general rule, most are usually too loose due to the fact they see so many sick hands win pots while dealing

This is HUGE. Any requirements with regard to start time to get the reduced rake? I will promote this and help spread the word that it is exclusively during this season only.

Word of advice... DO protect yourselves playing at the Rio. I played from noon to 11pm last night in the NLHE $1000 event and the dealers aren't HORRIBLE, but they are sometimes mighty close. And they are taking shortcuts and hurrying. Over and over I saw dealers just take a player's word for it that they'd put in enough chips for a call and shove the chips to the winner. I just posted a tale of the dealer failing to verify I had a player covered which caused issues four hours later.
And there was this gem. Near the end I raise, guy on my left pops it, I reraise, guy asks "how much do you have" and I moved my arms aside and in a few seconds he said "all-in". I snap called and won. I counted my chips out as the dealer verified and tells him 11,925. Opponent lets out a "WHAT? HOW MUCH?" 11,925. "NO WAY--SHOW ME." 6*T1000, 5*T500, 30*T100, and assorted T25's. "WHAT?!?!" He stares and counts himself and finally counts out some chips and shoves them out in a jumble and sits back. Only the dealer counts them this time. "You're way short, sir". "HOW MUCH IS IT?" "Eleven thousand nine hundred and twenty five." Player counts chips again and shoves out a pile. He's put out 10,925. Dealer tells him "another thousand, sir". He puts out a yellow and grabs back a T25. Dealer starts to shove it to me and I say "AND THE GREEN!" Dealer recounts and parrots "yes, and the green chip, sir". That guy was DETERMINED he was not going to pay off.
Even after it's over, the guy glares at me and my stack and then says "COUNT THOSE--COUNT YOUR CHIPS--I WANT TO KNOW EXACTLY WHAT YOU HAVE!" I smile and say "fine, gimme a minute". I get the chips stacked and lined up and as he's watching I tick it off... "fifteen thousand in yellow, five thousand in 500's, four thousand in blacks, and about 500 in greens to total about twenty four and a half". He says "ok" and sulks.
It's a jungle out there. Don't expect the dealers to protect you. Pay attention.

Playing cash game, I missed the blinds twice. I was never given a missed blind button thus never had to post. Happened to others at the table also. We knew what was going on but never said anything. Different dealers too. They are just horrible. We also had quite a few rakefree hands. Gotta love the WSOP!

The frustration of the new/poor dealers is growing behind the scenes also. My dealer coordinator is wishing she could fire them all right now. They get confused on which table to push into after dealing table 322 (duh, 323), how to count their bank in cash tables, and how to color up in tournaments. Sorry, I wish the better dealers could be everywhere there and not see/hear all these problems. I'd honestly say it is probably 200 out of the 1200 dealers that might be in this poor category, they just easily make it look bad for everyone else. The only temporary benefit I get is if I get one of these dealers in front of me in cash games...I look like a damn god dealing to them
