On top of our 4 weekly November freerolls, we will be holding a bonus $5000 freeroll.

November $5000 Bonus Freeroll.

How to qualify.

Players must play a minimum of 50 hours in a live Texas Hold ‘Em cash game during the month of November.
The bonus freeroll will be held Monday December 3rd at 11am.
There will be no ‘double hours’ awarded as with the current weekly freeroll.
The hours currently assigned as double hours for the weekly freeroll will NOT earn ANY credit towards the bonus monthly freeroll.
They WILL continue to earn credit for the weekly freeroll as they have been.
Play will be tracked using the Bravo player tracking system. When a player misses a blind they will be lobbied and will earn no credit towards the freeroll until all blinds are made up and they are once again an active player.
50 hours will qualify you with 1000 chips. Every 10 hours over 50, players will earn an additional 1000 chips. There will be no cap on the amount of chips a player can earn to enter the freeroll.
Earning ‘max’ (25 hours) in any of the weekly freerolls in November will earn an additional 1000 chips.
Max hours in all 4 of November’s weekly freerolls will earn a bonus 2500 chips, for a total of 6500 chips from qualifying with max hours in all of November’s weekly freerolls.
The last ten players remaining will split the prize pool. The 5 biggest chip stacks will receive $599 each, the next 3 biggest stacks will receive $400 each, the final 2 stacks will receive $300 each and the first person eliminated from the tournament will receive $205. Should there be less than 20 people qualified and registered for the tournament, the prize pool will be reduced by $200 for every person below 20 up to a maximum prize pool reduction of $1000.
All Riviera poker room house rules will apply. We will also use T.D.A rules as a guideline.
When we approach the ‘bubble’, players will be asked to remain seated at their tables, we will be hand for hand when we reach 12 players. Penalties may be enforced on players who do not respect the request to remain seated.
All discussions for a chop, will take place only on scheduled tournament breaks. Players will be granted one 5 minute ‘chop break’ to discuss a chop if a majority of players request one. Requests will be made to the floor person.
Management decisions are final.
Management reserves the right to change, alter or cancel this promotion at any time.
There will be an optional staff add on of $10 for an additional 5000 chips.

IMO the new promo is not as good as the previous months one
And especially not as good for me
i think riviera is cool and have no reason to post negative things when i could just shut up and choose not to play there so im just hoping you can convince me i am wrong so i can make the excuse to visit.
(giving you the chance to sell me the Riviera and im pretending to be a tough customer)

this is how my brain works ...

OLD PROMO 30-40 hours= 2.5k x 4 = $333/250 equity per week
NEW PROMO 60 hours = 2.5k x 4 + 5k = $250 equity per week

previously i could have come for of come for a 7.5/10 hour session got a freeroll for 2.5k with 20 players. RECEIVING $12.50/$15 p/h in equity FOR jackpot drop, travel and risking missing possible "better games". I could have done this along with qualifying for the Monte Carlo freeroll which is 14k for 25 hours (60 runners) works out roughly $10 p/h equity based on small edge in freeroll and structure.

with the new promo i would have to put in a 15 hour session ( 2 x7.5 hour sessions for the 2.5k freeroll)
i wouldn't be able to play both as one of your 2.5k's clashes with the Monte Carlos and 50 hours would take up alot of time, not to say its impossible to do both.. but i could show you an excel spreadsheet i made (god i am a nerd) where it would nearly be impossible to play Monte Carlos, Flamingo, Harrahs and all your Freerolls and bonus freeroll in the 3 week time period that i am there.

Hope you can see why it would be beneficial for me to not be committed to 50 hours of play when i could spread my 50 hours out over other rooms that may be closer with better hourly equity..

I hope i have explained this well as i have confused myself slightly, interested by the response i will receive

Let's say that your equity numbers are correct.

It wouldn't make it a worse promo, as the weekly equity remains the same.

By adding an extra freeroll, variance is reduced, so it could be argued that it is better for the player.

Personally I would look at it, as the $5k freeroll is costing me 15-20 hours during the month, over and above the hours I would put in for the weeklys. Which would mean the weekly equity is greatly increased.

Maybe we are the better bet over over freerolls where your equity is invested in one tournament that could go against you.

ok but the "one freeroll you are referring too is 25 hours for 14,000. the other 25 hours i could qualify for a 7.500 rio and 2x 2,000 flamingos....

maybe you would have less runners in all of your freerolls which would mean your equity was larger in comparison, but would't get the variation of rooms are chance to find more fish and more games ect....

Just to clarify... any time put in during a double-hour period gets 0 hours towards the monthly, so all monthly hours have to be earned outside those periods?

That's correct.

60 hours outside of the weekly double hour period will get you into the $5k.
