Please don't turn a moderately interesting thread into a pissing contest. It sucks to read, drives off traffic and hurts the board.
On another note, I don't play nearly as much as most that post here, but I am fairly impressed by G.S. not losing his entire stack here. Marriage to aces/kings is a common leak for tight players (which I think G.S. is based upon his posts on this site). Of course, if I were talking with G.S. I would point to this pretty good read/play on his end as a reason to buy in for more, but that is for a different thread.

So I am prepared to excuse your bad grammar on the grounds of ignorance rather than deliberate neglect, if you like. I am nothing if not forgiving.
I'll certainly make more grammar mistakes just like you'll certainly continue being a miserable a**hole, we might as well cease bickering and accept life the way it is.
Please stop. This site has always been better than this. It is why it is such a great site to visit. Let's keep it that way.
I apologize. The very first response on this thread was meekamouse inserting himself into the discussion to pitch an insult. I was irritated because I was posing a legitimate question, and his little flame only served as an annoyance and a distraction. However, I shouldn't have reacted to it: he apparently has designated me as his favorite enemy (see his subsequent posts) and is following me around, making acidic posts in response to whatever I post. I shouldn't dignify those posts with a response. Nothing positive can ever result from conversing with him, and I should have realized that.

This is your cookie cutter response to every member on the board who takes exception to anything you say. Dig deeper to differentiate your insults so that they have merit.
How did the rest of your night go? My take here is that you are only stupid if you went on tilt stated targeting the internet kiddy and lost a lot of money. It's one hand at the beginning of a sesson. Yes you might could have played it better but at least you gained the information that kiddie will call with 8-4 offsuit. You've played with him before. You know it's high risk high reward. So rebuy and play on.

If you're as confident over the board as you are in the OP above in reading tells/body language, check-fold the turn.
I suppose that I talked myself into his being possibly happy with a mid-pair, given that my action suggested a missed flop c-bet and then a shutdown when I met with resistance. In fact, that is pretty much the way I would have played AK, for instance.
But I agree with your basic point, that if I'm not going to bet that turn, I might well consider giving up on the hand right then (to any action, of course). I was checking the turn for pot size control, expecting a check behind and then planning to fire a 2/3 pot size bet on the river (pretty much regardless of what the river card was). The turn bet caught me by surprise, even given V's perky look.
Greenslime,
I agree with Kat on this one. You felt like you had a read, but perhaps you let the surprise bet by the Internet Kiddie peak your curiosity. Remember, a curious player is more likely to call than a scared one, and you clearly were not scared by the online uniform or his bet. So, just file that read away for the next time you square up that villain.
I will say, I do think you might benefit from buying in for a little more,. Since Venetian allows $300, maybe you should consider $150-200. I've read your post about the your reasons for a 50BB buyin. But, it seems like you are a good player and thus having a deeper stack would provide you the opportunity to use more of the tools in your poker arsenal. I'm not that good, but I find that the deeper stack gives me more freedom and implied odds to play a speculative hand from position, when there is a small raise (e.g., calling $7 on the button or, if I've already been labeled as "tight," even reraising with 7-8 suited). With only $100 in my stack, that weapon is blunted. Just something to consider/reconsider.
Dave
P.S. I hope as the session continued, you pulled down a nice win at the expense of the online twins.
