This may have been asked before, but after searching through the threads I couldn't find the topic up. I have recently been looking for a tourney around town, regardless of buy in, that doesn't allow rebuy or re-entry. The first I saw on AVP that interested me was the M's 10pm tourney for $55, but after attending tonight I realize that not only does it allow re-entry, but the starting chip count listed on AVP is also inaccurate. (Start at 5500, AVP has 4000 listed).

Was hoping to get some help/recommendations. Where should I look?

Nearly all tournaments allow re-entry through the late registration period. I'm not sure why you're trying to avoid such tournaments - re-entry tends to add dead money to the prize pool.
