I am more of a cash player but I like to do a couple of tournaments on each visit. If you play any tournaments do your homework and find the best structures, as most of the daily events usually offered are shove-fests by the 4th round. I think most of the DSE's will be over when you get there so I would suggest Aria for a daily tournament with a decent structure.
Also, drunks later at night, nits during the morning/early afternoon hours, for the most part. If you want a decent cash game during the day I would suggest Venetian or MGM. They always seem to have at least a few games going.
Thanks warpigs! I was wondering who had the best structure. I wouldnt mind trying to get lucky at the aria and taking down a decent little tourney. Ill have to scope out the cash game scene so i dont get stuck with all the grinders.

Shady,
Since it's your first trip to Vegas, be sure to spend some time wandering around and getting a feel for the place. Take in stuff like the Bellagio Fountains, the Fremont Street light show, some of the old neon signs that have been restored downtown.
Also, if you rent a car take a look at this site and some others for good local restaurants and try a couple of those -- could be a Mexican joint like Lindo Michoacan, Firefly on Paradise for Tapas or even Pop's Cheesesteaks, if that's what you're in the mood for. But, whatever it is, be sure to soak up some of that local flavor -- makes the trip more fun.

Thanks for the insight Dap! Youre very right, I am so excited about hitting all the card rooms I keep forgetting that I really need to take some time to enjoy some sites and Vegas hotspots to make my experience enjoyable. Thanks again!

Slots are dogs...but video poker can be a decent distraction to earn some comps... I play mostly tourneys while in Vegas...up to $150 buy in. Low end, Harrahs, TI & Mirage have solid structure. PH might...they have a new thing going; not sure the structure, there is some conflicting info out there; hope to clear that up Aria, Venetian, Nugget & Binions all have decent structure as well. But other than Nugget, you will invest some serious time if you last.
