I'll be in town 8/8 - 8/15 and will try to get to the Strat. event. I wouldn't have considered it otherwise, but I do like some pizza. I'll be playing in a variety of rooms and tournies.
fyi re PH.. Most of the east coast casinos use their BBJP funds however they want to. It's typical. Sometimes they "add on" to a special tourney prize pool and that's when we have our best shot at getting some of our "drop" money back without hitting the ellusive BBJP.
Cant wait for these tournaments. I would love to play against the AVP pros. I will defitnetly be at the Stratosphere and PH tournaments. As for any gripes about PH tourneys, I played at there 1pm today and enjoyed it. It's a good room and cant wait to see yall there.

Given the controversy surrounding Planet Hollywood's tournaments on these boards I think it's extremely poor judgement to include PH in this series of events.
Yeah, but, according to the PH gripe/thread...the cash players are the ones (allegedly) paying for the tourney promo funds. So a tourney is +EV @ Planet Hollywood. I'm in
Actually the juice is so high and the structure so short it's still "unbeatable" unless the overlay is truly spectacular. And with AVP turning up it won't be.
There's no "allegedly" about it, it's right there on the tourney promo fliers.

Allegedly was in reference to illegality or impropriety that has been aggressively repeated by a few AVP'ers.
I think the most aggressive repeated statement on these boards is that the practice is unethical. Institutionalized angle shooting if you like. Like most questions of ethics not all will agree.

Right on, Mr Kat. I guess that when it come to the "Jackpot" or "Promotions" it's all immaterial to me. It's just dead money. I've got some lifelong runbad with those dollars. Never had a qualifying bad beat (in a bbjp room), nor high-hand of the day or shift. Got paid for quads a few times. (huge pots and promo bucks). But as far as I'm concerned the drops, rake + promo are way too much at the Caesar's Entertainment rooms, so I mostly avoid them. Friends from out of town love those places, and my Total Rewards card benefits from their alcohol inspired late night slot sessions.
