It was my turn to deal at a home game last Saturday night (tournament that was down to last 4 players I think it was) and after the flop the big stack at the table needed runner-runner sixes to win and knock out the short stack who was all-in. Burned a card and laid down a 6 on the turn. Pulled another burn card and then laid down another 6 on the river. I think that gave the villain a full boat to beat the short stack's all-in flush or two pair. I guess I should have been paying more attention but what the hell.....

Tervis has been making tumblers since 1946 and their products are still American made to this date. I like the 12oz model and it makes a perfect one part booze, two parts mix, one ice cube cocktail. The lines on the tumbler make that real easy as you get hammered. Dual wall construction prevents sweat rings and the plastic is BPA free. I fully guarantee these Tervis tumblers will last longer than your liver will...Image PS: be aware these are not cheap no matter what size you order. Set's of four are $34 and up on Amazon.com

Thanks for the info on the BB&B 20% coupon. These Tervis tumblers could also be outfitted with the AVP logo. Seems these tumblers are very popular with sports teams logos and about everything under the sun...

There's a Jesus loaves/fishes stretch to poker tables and good VBJ machines but I'm just too fried from work to put it together.

Tony: Saturday morning between 10-11am I should be at the poker room at Binion's. I think you are ready to run deep in the 2pm.

sevencard2003
Re: Sevencard2003's Blog 07 Oct 2010 15:46
if the tourney is at 2pm, i will really want to be sleeping til 1pm or so to be wide awake for tourney and making it to binions about 10 min before 2pm. certainly will affect my sleep and play if u wanted me to show up that much ahead of time.

Lester
Re: Sevencard2003's Blog 07 Oct 2010 15:59
I will meet you at the desk where they take the money for tournament entries at ten minutes to two (1:50pm). That works fine for me.

Re: Sevencard2003's Blog 07 Oct 2010 17:14
Lester if you wanta quicker way to burn your money I'm coming out to vegas sunday and I'll bring you a Bic free of charge.

Lester
Re: Sevencard2003's Blog 08 Oct 2010 08:24
I have the full expectation of donking off every penny I bring to Vegas. Only need the discipline to save enough cash for a cab to the airport. I will leave cash under my driver's seat in my car in the airport parking lot so I can drive home. I have no expectations whatsoever of grinding out a profit in 5 days or taking down a tournament.

So staking Tony for $120 at Binion's is part of my degen plan for 5 nights in Vegas. I might have him show me what a good machine looks like. I am partial to 100 play VP.

I guess I do have one expectation for my Oct 9-14 trip.

As long as I don't end up face down in a ditch with a meth head buttfking my corpse I will consider my trip a success.

sitting at Binion's making my poker room rate hours at a 2/4 limit table. down ten bucks coming up to the 2 hour mark. is ther ever any point to do hand analysis at a 2/4 limit game.

degen notes - upgrade to first class for $109 so I could swill free drinks for 4 hours. Stewardess cut me off at 5 bloodies. heiniken's at Binion's are a touch warm but since it is a 45 degree .optimal temp that is fine. Wolfed two 99 cent dogs at the mermaid. this is hog heaven. I'll have an update on my TBC stake this evening depending on my soberity level. I can't make any commitments...

Re: Sevencard2003's Blog 09 Oct 2010 17:53
am outside binions on laptop during the tourney break. lester has over 23,000 in chips, i have over 30,000 average chip stack is about 28,000 51 out of 94 players left in. lesters friend and fellow avper vbound busted out very early among the first 7 to bust out. i was down to 12 bb once.

sevencard2003
Re: Sevencard2003's Blog 09 Oct 2010 17:58
i forgot to charge my phone and its needing charging and my charger is locked up at my louggage which i left at the golden nugget bell desk. couldnt manage to get a room tonite at the 4 queens they are completely out. the hand that got me in good shape, i had QK raised preflop guy calls with A8 flop comes 9TJ we both check. 7 comes turn, he shoves 10k and i called allin.

Re: Sevencard2003's Blog 09 Oct 2010 18:20
Good luck Tony. I'm rollin in next week, maybe we can try that tourney. I'll get ahold of you when I get into town

sevencard2003
Re: Sevencard2003's Blog 09 Oct 2010 19:37
lester busted out in about 43rd place, and the tourneys on break again, i have 47k and the average stacck is 49k and there are 29 of us left. 10 of which get paid. 10th pays so little i would be more than happy to chop.

Lester
Re: Sevencard2003's Blog 09 Oct 2010 19:51
so I went card dead after the first break and 1.5 hours later had the same 23 thosandish chips. after break in level 8 (800/1600) down to about 20k my 77 ran in to AA.

Right now level 10 just started and 27 of orig 94 are going at it and I think Tony is a bit above avg stack size. I've never railed a pro before so I think I'll just write a few notes if I hear Tony in a hand.

and I need another drink....

Re: Sevencard2003's Blog 09 Oct 2010 21:34
Tony and I floated over to the Nugget and both sat at the same 1-2 NL table. He won a few pots then lost a few and bailed. I didn't win a hand for an hour off of a 100 buyin so preflop I got 54 all-in with AK off against QJ off and LOST.

Gambling budget is done for day but...

Must drink immediately....

sevencard2003
Re: Sevencard2003's Blog 10 Oct 2010 02:35
am $359 ahead for the day, went back to the nugget and couldnt lose for nothing. wish i had a room somewhere, everyone was sold out except for the places around $200. looked for lester and he wasnt there.

Lester
Re: Sevencard2003's Blog 10 Oct 2010 02:56
good to hear about your good run tonight Tony. my gamblin' budget for Saturday was busto early but not my drinkin' budget. Must clean up my puke immediately. At least I did not spray the wall on my way to the can. But the carpet is going to need some pixie dust. must have been the oysters rockerfeller from the GN buffet. Financial gain total for the day zero. but degen points were immeasurable...

I just woke up. Must wash puke from hair immediately. yesterday I opted to stay with two seperate one man wolf packs instead of forming a two man one man wolf pack with Tony. he had mentioned something about crashing at the IP spa at 6am if he couldn't find a room. today's plan is 10-10-10 promo at Binion's...

Re: Sevencard2003's Blog 10 Oct 2010 11:42
still grinding away at *binion's. I got tired of a mouthy drunk and limped my 73spades into a 5 handed 2-4 flop of 773. I was in middle position checked to me, I checked , rest checked. I bet the turn, got rereaised so I 3 popped it. went in to river headsup and called called after I 3 popped it again. Drunk was mouthing off and I yelled back I FLOPPED IT BIACHE!!!! every floor guy gave me a pass when I smoked the mouthy drunk. I have only had like 5 Royal Flush drinks so far today...

SeattleIrish
Re: Sevencard2003's Blog 10 Oct 2010 19:24
So, as a hand analysis, never "slow play" a monster in 2/4 limit. You'll still get a ton of callers for your 2$ bet (after all, "It's only two dollars!").

Nice hand though

s.i.

zippyboy
Re: Sevencard2003's BlogPosted: 10 Oct 2010 19:52
I thought that might be you over there. We all heard you throughout the room. Better watch it, your mouthy drunk is a cage fighter, but you prolly already knew that. I was at the next table over with maui for 5 hours. Had pocket tens once, but had to lay 'em down. All in all, a good time though.

Lester is starting to become my favorite poster here. For some reason him puking is more interesting than Tony's life.

Re: Sevencard2003's Blog 10 Oct 2010 21:27
I like the duality and the contrast.....

1 actually plays poker, posts a detailed hand report, drinks alot , and has a room like a normal vegas tourist (Go Lester!) and the other has no swimwear, tries to sleep at the IP without a room, doesn't drink (but often behaves like he does) and bathes at the Spa. Kinda like the 'Odd Couple', in a perverse, Vegas sort of way.

"can 2 addicted poker players share an apartment without one of them being killed while he sleeps?" (Cue theme music)

Re: Sevencard2003's Blog 10 Oct 2010 21:43
cant help but LMFAO at mouthy drunks @low limit poker...had a guy once who wanted to kill me for sucking out a flush for likea 30 dollar pot while i was waiting for a nl seat. So what if this guy was a 'cage fighter'? lol with how many drinks lester was having it probably woulda been a + for the night to see the guy tackled by security and charged with assault and well worth a slug to the face that he probably woulda barely felt anyhow

Lester come over to osheas

Lester
Re: Sevencard2003's Blog 11 Oct 2010 07:02
Tony- I'll prolly be down on the strip tonight for MNF Vikes/Jets at Excal or Mgm. so I could work my way up to Osheas or Bill's if you are at either place.

I did know the mouthy drunk was a cage fighter. Nice enough guy besides the mouth. He knew Tony and kept referring to him as Charles Manson. After I told him I had staked Tony he started calling me a nazi-lover. He got warned on that quite a few times. after he called a guy a [censored] a few times they cut off his drinks until after he got some food in him. waitress avoided our table so nobody else could get drinks. thanks a lot bin laden.

I ran in to vbound at golden gate after I left Binion's. I was going to catch him again for 1am GN tourney but slept through my alarm. I will be in Binion's 10am this morning followed by cash game to take care of my 4Q poker room rate. I feel much better today than my painful Sunday.

Re: Sevencard2003's Blog 11 Oct 2010 11:12
It's Heath, or Keith. He seems to be a reg at Binions, all the dealers know him. He kept yelling back and forth at maui at our table. I bet he was fun at a table, seems to live life to the fullest. I could hear him yelling "allvegaspoker!" and AVP!" a couple times, so I wondered what members were over there, and recognized you from your avatar.

Re: Sevencard2003's BlogPosted: 11 Oct 2010 12:45
Actually, from my angle it was more like William Petersen from CSI.

Lester
Re: Sevencard2003's BlogPosted: 11 Oct 2010 14:43
Oddly enough Zippy looks exactly like his if I am thinking for the right guy at the next table. My pick is from a morning after a terrible bender. I have a fresh hair cut and tomorrow will be three weeks nonsmoking.

I have got a lot of Gil Grissam lookalike refs before. I did pack my CSI polo shirt. Could end up hooking up with Katherine Willows or Sara Sidel if I am lucky.

Those other AVP guys that have avatars of themselves with women under each arm have it made BTW. Doesn't matter if it is the wife/daughter or a pair hookers I really envy those guys. JJ is one of them and the other I'd have to look up. I'm at the pay internet kiosk at Binion's so I'm about to bolt. Just got tired of my damned phone and the Opera browser I have to use since the Palm OS Windows IE browser sucks so badly....

met up with tbc and Johnny at Bill's. watched a bit of MNF and had a couple of drinks. Thanks Johnny.

tbc and I rolled over to Ballys. Tony had the floor called on him even before he has chips. (I'll let him do the 'splaining). I bought in for 100 at 1-2 NL. I doubled up early on when I made a bad read after the flop and caught on the river. just doing small ball right now waiting for a stacking opportunity. I'm in seat 8 and tbc in seat 2 and managing to avoid each other...

WECpoker
Re: Sevencard2003's BlogPosted: 12 Oct 2010 01:03
Why don't you explain so we can hear the full proper story.....please

Lester
Re: Sevencard2003's BlogPosted: 12 Oct 2010 02:04
so I did discuss the Bally's floor incident with Tony as we were waalking to PH. i let him know i posted briefly about it and was leaving it up to him to post more details. Tony said he doesn't like posting things that people may rip on him for. i said he still needs to do that cuz that is what avp folks want to read about.

the short story was...

a player at the table we just joined asked Tony how much he bought in for. i had already folded and did not see if Tony had already mucked but he did not call the BB. tony asked the villan how many chips he had. the dealer stepped in and hilarity ensued. the floor came over and I don't remember what he said cuz I was in look-for-rock-to-hide-under mode. then we played poker.
Afterwards Tony did ask me if he should have dropped the issue? I said that it was a case of picking your battle to fight. for the official record: i felt it was actually a retrospective discussion for Tony fwiw....

btw - picture Tony wearing a vegas bail bondsman ad Tshirt and me wearing my Hangover one man wolf pack shirt walking from casino to casino on the strip. it did not strike me as humerous earlier but right now I think that is damed funny...

Pokerdogg
Re: Sevencard2003's BlogPosted: 12 Oct 2010 09:51
I am so confused... Did Tony get offended by villian asking how much he has behind? Isn't that a standard question?

Lester
Re: Sevencard2003's BlogPosted: 12 Oct 2010 10:43
The villan did have the right to ask about Tony's buyin level. Tony felt he a a right to ask the same of the V. Like I said in my prev post: I told Tony he needs to consider which battles to fight and we did discuss that a bit.

Pokerdogg
Re: Sevencard2003's BlogPosted: 12 Oct 2010 11:07
I think I got the picture. Although villian's stack was physically there, thus Tony looks like a dink for asking the same question back, is that about right

Re: Sevencard2003's BlogPosted: 12 Oct 2010 12:40
Aaahhhh...now I see. Clearly, TBC needs to spend way more time on 2p2, where things such as whether one has a right to a count of V's chips (vs. simply being able to clearly see them, with bigger chips not hidden).

Did V do a Tiffany Skank-Ho handswirl with a response of "this many?" THAT would've been funny.

Lester

It was more of a Brooklyn sort of response although the "this many..." response would have been a riot.

Tonight I am just going to kick back downtown in preparation for my jump from the top of the Strat tower tomorrow. I'll get that video on youtube one way or the other....

Im confused...Was Tony out of chips and had just rebought prior to hand starting and did not have chips in front of him? Or had he rebought and villian was checking to see if rebuy was proper amount? Or did he just ask for a count of Tonys chips because he has them hidden?

Tony and I were new to the game and had just given the floor our buyin money.

Hey Lester, you look familiar. Were you in Vegas with your dad in January 09?

Re: Sevencard2003's BlogPosted: 12 Oct 2010 16:07
I've only been to Vegas once or twice a year for the last 3 years. Last end of November I stayed at Excal for 13 nights but other than that I have always stayed downtown. Never been to Vegas with my dad so you must have ran in to my doppleganger...

This reminds me of those "Friends" episodes where a special guest (Tom Sellak, Brad Pitt, etc...) arrives to spice things up when the show is lagging.

You're a welcome addition, Lester. Keep 'em coming!

Hey lester and seattle irish come over to osheas. No i was folding preflop and i had said outloud to the floor the amount of my buyin. He couldve seen my chips in about a minute i felt he was a little impatient for i wouldnt ask the same unless it were to matter for that hand.

I finally managed to get my sleep schedule shifted around and am about to see if I can get on a 1-2 NL table at Binion's. second choice would be the Nugget.

just left Binion's up $195 after playing 4 handed for the last hour. No drink service so moved over to Nugget. 1-2NL had a list so got a seat on a 2-4 limit table with about $1300 on it. I bought in for hundo. got a beer in 4 minutes...

Just finished 2.5 hours of 2/4 limit at the Nugget up $127. Confirmed the cage fighter I mouthed off to was the guy Brock Lesnar beat in his second UFC fight. I had thought the guy was a light heavy weight but I guess he really is a full blown heavyweight....

Thats not so tough..... he's lost 14 professional fights...... I've never lost a professional fight.

Re: Sevencard2003's BlogPosted: 13 Oct 2010 18:20
They ended up having a weight limit on the Sky Jump at the Strat and I exceeded the 265lbs by 6 lbs and they would not take my money. So HH would end up giving up 15 lbs to me while he is one inch taller. My only chance would be to get him in my Jack Bauer sleeper hold and then whisper in his ear: "Don't fight it...."

Well then, your head seems to be miniture compared to your body Would love to see action shots of you and Tony coverting around town and at the tables. I think Lester would be a cool guy to hang with in Vegas. He seems to love living life to the fullest.

But, did you beat the rake?

Also, must you sleep immediately?

i seen lester tip almost $5 every hand the whole trip, i dont see how he beats the rake.

It appears Lester is crushing the rake.

Re: Sevencard2003's BlogPosted: 13 Oct 2010 07:54
Well one way i am certain he comes out ahead of the rake is in fun. Lester is obviously playing for fun. He is having a good time. Maybe at the end of the trip he leaves with less money.....but he goes home having had a great vacation.

Re: Sevencard2003's BlogPosted: 13 Oct 2010 18:23
Psand nailed it. I know I could bump a winning session of $150plus to $200 if I tipped less but I choose not to. If a few dealers take an extra ten bucks in tips during a down due to my redbirds flying their way I'm glad to show my gratitude for catching my open-enders and nut flush draws. I'm buying karma points....

I like your style, sir!

When I first walk through a casino, I will wish a hearty "good luck" to at least a dozen random folks on my way to the poker tables. What the hell? Can't hurt.

Re: Sevencard2003's BlogPosted: 13 Oct 2010 18:34
i don't mean that you have more fun because you tip more. I mean you are having fun as opposed to worrying about how much money you have won or lost.

is lester still in town? what became of willpwns who was supposed to try and start an omaha8 game somewhere with me? and i strongly suspect JOhn might have been deuce deuce in the boot laughing somewhere now out of town about how he ripped me off the $193--he did seem to know who i was but wouldnt admit to being on this site.

Once the thought crept into my mind about rehashing a previous vegas trip with snips from the AVP archives I could not stop until the dirty deed was done. Time to celebrate this weekend!

Hey thanks for re-posting your posts from your downtown trip with TBC, it's a good read.

The cage fighter guy you where talking about is he in the AVP meet tournament video at the MGM on the home page. There's a guy in the video at about 2:24, with longer hair and a beard that I think is the guy. If so I know the guy from playing at Binions as well.
