There is a studio floorplan I really like within a short walk to FSE. Even on sweltering summer nights I think it might be cool to down some cocktails on the rooftop recreation area....
7th and Lewis...that is a great relaxing looking rooftop...

Ding ding ding ding we have a WINNER!
Lindy you must be an expert at transposing landmarks from photographic imagery to Google maps? The Fitz, FSE canopy and Lady Luck were the key landmarks. Truly well done Lindy! I will email your prize to you.
You're not the only one with a dream of leaving the BS of working 9 to 5 for the man behind and renting a studio apt within walking distance of numberous poker rooms and grinding out a living....now if I can only improve my game enough to make that happen...and the landmarks and google maps made it pretty easy.

... I think 7BB an hour is the figure resulting from analysis of grinding low limit poker for a living. So at 1-2NL that would be a $14 an hour rate. Ten hours a day at the table would produce a $140 daily rate and assuming $2/hr comps totaling $20 a day that adds up to a pretty meager standard of living. Some other AVP forum topics include discussion on the freeroll circuit and other promos that low limit grinders pursue. When all is said and done the analysis of gnawing off the shackles holding me to my desk at my straight job FAILS....

Lindy: I emailed you your prize this morning, enjoy...
I did a google images search and sure enough there is a pic of this property with the 7th & Lewis street signage. I believe the top floor is all studio units with a loft big enough for a king size bed and the bath is on the loft level as well. The units with balconies are one bedroom and two bedroom units. The units facing the strip can see the Stratosphere tower to boot...
Thanks for the email prize Lester! Took me two days to fully read it and I feel the same as I did when leaving the theater after seeing Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy....somewhat confused, having many questions and trying to understand the thinking process of truly unique minds. Of course there may be a slight difference between The British Intellegence Agency and TBC but I'm still trying to sift through such details.

Lester, I did not realize you were not posting on TBC's blog as he has "banned" you. (Noticed you had gone MIA, though maybe something else had happened) Is that right...he banned you?

My login stopped working in TBC's blog about Dec 27th I think it was. which was fine with me since I had tired of the Groundhog Day movie theme. While I still read the blog I find that any time I feel compelled to comment or give advise (shudder...) it ends up somebody else will post the same basic advise or comment that I would have if I had access.
I have sent TBC two twitter msgs that were short (obviously) and to the point. The second one related to the recent personal hygiene comments and I simply tweeted a suggestion to try using Selsun Blue shampoo for his gross scalp condition. He did reply that he did not think I was banned from his blog. I checked the next day and I still was. It is much, much better to be in a read-only mode.
I did have a rather sad awakening of sorts from reading the recent advise to take a shower, brush your teeth, blah-blah-blah. Many of us had been living the dream by proxy through TBC of not working a straight job and punching a clock and being held accountable by the man per se. Many of us with straight jobs have an alarm clock that wakes us up every day. The night before we observe the clock to confirm when it is time to go to bed in order to be responsive to the following day's alarm clock. When the alarm goes off we know how many minutes that we have in the shower, shaving, brushing teeth etc and know when we need to get in our cars to drive to work and when we need to arrive and at what time we need to be at our desks (or whatever). We then stare at the clock until the end of that workday and go home with a sigh of relief. Then we repeat the whole process the next day. I had made an assumption that TBC could wake up whenever he felt like it. Then spend a leisurely amount of time in the shower and when all was said and done he could wipe the steam off of the mirror and look himself in the eye and tell himself "today I am going to be a winner". I had the illusion that TBC could start his day not being a slave to the clock (or "the man"). But I finally figured out that is totally wrong. There is nothing leisurely about the start of any day for TBC. He does not have time to take a shower. He does not have time to even brush his teeth. He "must gamble immediately". He is a slave to his addiction. Hence the bursting of the bubble that he was living the dream at any level. How many multiple day stays has TBC concluded at any Vegas hotel that not a single towel has even been used in the bathroom? Do the maids leave him notes that the shower is in working order and that if he uses the towels that they will gladly replace them? The almost certain sad truth is that TBC's gambling addiction precludes him from enjoying at even the most basic human level that he can start his day whenever he wants, spend as much time in the shower getting squeaky clean as he wants, spend as much time nibbling or sipping whatever he pulls from his fridge at the start of his day and not be a slave to either the clock or "the man". Instead, TBC is a total slave to his gambling addiction. That is truly, truly sad....
