To continue with the Kubrick derail, I strongly recommend checking out Paths of Glory. It's my favorite Kubrick along with the first half of Full Metal Jacket (and I've seen them all except Lolita and the first two films that Kubrick disowned).
Great blog. I loved the trip report form 2008. Can't wait to read the others. It's always fun to hear why people fell in love with Vegas and what keeps them coming back for more. Thanks for posting this. Ready to read more!!

As a half-hearted attempt at an apology for derailing your blog, I've renamed it "zzKubrickzz".
Obviously, if you couldn't tell from my avatar & name, my favorite is Dr. Strangelove, followed by Full Metal Jacket, 2001, The Shining & Clockwork Orange.

Just submitted a trip report for my June 2009 trip, so as soon as it's approved it will show up in the Trip Reports section. It did verge on tl;dr, so I thank those of you who read it all for your patience. Likely, the 2010 and 2011 will have to be multi-part. I think I'm becoming a little verbose.
A little late to the party, but wanted to say I've enjoyed playing with you in the AVP Home Games and look forwarded to following along on your adventures. And to meet the requirements of the thread, I have no strong opinions on Kubrick tho I generally enjoy his movies.

Finally have some cell signal so I can post from my hotel room. Generally, the first two days have not gone well. Flight was delayed an hour out of Denver, which caused me to be in a big damn hurry upon arrival. I told the Cabbie to go the back way into the IP and hurry but he tunnelled me. I ran like hell to make the 7pm Venetian but busted after an hour with a string of second best hands. The bright spot of Wednesday was a +$567 session at Mirage, but then I lost $300 of that at TI trying to grind freeroll hours.
Thursday was more of the same. Played the 2pm $235 deepstack at the WSOP (715 players!) but busted after my opponent caught a 1 outer to crack my aces. Played PLO at the Rio and made all of $5. Went to TI to play the mixer, lost $160 in that before dusting off the remaining $140 by getting 3 outed in the NL cash game.
So, yeah, i'm stuck $400 for the trip in only two days. Good news is it was similar last year before I went on my +$1000 run on the last day. Here's to hoping it happens again, maybe for multiple days this time.
