lol how do you lose all in AA vs AK you must play HORRIBLE! ...jk obviously
was funny though because you mentioned being chip leader then getting all in vs the 2nd biggest stack and i was thinking why would you do that!? then you said the ppAA and i went Ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh.
I had been playing really aggressive once I built up the chips as the other players at the table were mostly surrendering without a fight. Most pots were taken down preflop or with a standard c-bet. The guy on my right kept counting how many spots were left till the money and I knew he was just trying to creep into a cash. Many other players were doing the same, so it was easy pickins.
I had to raise/fold preflop to a shove from the V in the AA v. AK hand before (before he had as many chips as he did in that hand), so when he started looking interested after I raised the AA, I thought there was a good chance that we were going to play for stacks. I could see he was having difficulty deciding exactly what to do. I had played against him before and one of his habits is to just flat call raises too much in spots he should three bet. I knew he wanted to three bet here because he knew I was raising light. I was trying to decide whether it would be better to four bet shove and give him a chance to fold or see a flop when he took care of the decision for me by just going all in. I did the fist pump snap call. The flops was QsJsx giving him a gutterball. The turn was 6s and since I had the As I now counterfeited one of his outs. Three cards to fade on the river and there it was, the 10d. I fade that card and I have 20% of the chips with 11 very touristy players left. To put it mildly, that sucked.

It seems like you & Mrs. Flops enjoy & have a great talent in all things video. Have you considered doing more interviews as your time allows? Such as LVM, Photoc, AlaskaGal, Jon, and some of the more prominent AVP'ers and bloggers? I think it would be a great addition to the site for members to be able to put names to faces & see what makes them tick.

Well it seems like the interview videos are a hit, and I like doing them too (it's nice when I don't have to do all the talking). Along those lines, the latest video is a follow up with Bob Wolley, AKA Poker Grump, AKA Rakewell here on AVP - talking about his main event experience. Watch it here:
Wow - I can't believe it's been a month since I put up a video. THis past month has been a busy one for me and has included a week out of town for work and a week hosting a family visit here in town. Between those things, I had a bit of a break from playing, but got back at it this past weekend when Mrs Flops and I decided to spend a couple nights doing a staycation at Aria. Naturally, some poker ensued ...
Congrats on the win Missing flops! Thanks for the video, I met you on break Sunday night when the tourney was down to 16 and you had a little over the average stack and was wondering how it turned out for you. I think you are correct that your 'classy' style of play paid off for you, literally. In the 1pm tourney that day in which I played we had one guy bragging about what a great call he made when he caught a bluff. Then the bluffing guy told him to just shut up and stack his chips and it escalated from there till Mark the TD came over. It was just uncomfortable for a little bit at the table after that. Congrats again and keep the videos coming.

I'm glad you enjoyed the video Lindy and thanks for coming over and saying hi the other night!
