Awesome pics. Looks like the family had a great time. I dropped my WSOP schedule to you in the mail today by the way. Sorry for the delay. Now just start crushing online, let me win a bracelet or two, and life will be grand. FYI, so far I really like the new merge software but I also wish they'd bring back the mini view as 12 tabling cash games is much easier that way. Luckily I'm saved by my multiple big monitors so no migranes- at least not from multi tabling.

interesting night last night online. I didn't get home from soccer till about 12:30am. I was wide awake so I decided to play a session.

Lately I've been thinking that to maximize my hourly I need to play both Merge and Revolution at the same time. That way I could pick the highest games running from each site and stack them on opposite sides of my laptop. The question was could I get used to the different setup for each (toggling between) and would it fry my laptop.

I ended up doing ok. I had about 15 tables total going at one point and i timed out twice but it was more due to learning how to toggle and not much else.... and my laptop didn't catch flames.

Of course at about 2:20am or so something weird happened (see picture below)... Merge shutdown. I was unaware there was a scheduled software upgrade. It shut everything down. I was winding down so not a big deal. I did get reimbursed for 3 tourneys but I thought I had 5 going (see pic). Not worth my time to research it.

Also, I've dug out of my initial hole on felt stars. Of course, as usual if you look at my redline I'm running about $400 lower than i should be. Seems to be standard for me ever since Last October. But I'm happy with the turnaround.

oh and I have decided to stack all tourneys on top of each other in a bigger display so my eyes don't pop out. It does make it impossible to follow any action though.

when I played PLO DONs at Stars I found just stacking em was easier. Reduces mousing distance too so your mousing wrist has a chance of avoiding surgery.

Ha. Thx WEC. Still running a little bad in poker but good in life. Currently on vacation with all the kids visiting my family in Texas. Four young kids on a plane then hotel. Not too bad so far. Headed to the Zoo for a bit today.

no poker for a week as I visited family in Texas. Played for the first time tonight and basically took it in the poopshoot.

I actually folded KK twice preflop. one time a player showed AA after i folded. I suspected it when he limp/raised UTG (hand history below). the other time I just suspected AA was heavy in range and it wasn't worth the risk since it was the bubble. I ended up cashing both tourneys. However...

I got my a$$ handed to me elsewhere. i'm sure i don't have a lot of edge since I'm playing so many tables at once but it still hurts to keep getting sucked out on. the worst tonight is the other hand history beklow. I got to see the flop for free and then flopped a straight. I overshoved because there was enough in the pot for me to coast to double up as we were on the bubble. Thus, I don't really want him drawing to a higher straight or flush. Then he <gasp> callls me with bottom pair and runner runners a full house. And after he has the gall to type "thank you". It was painful as it was the only $50 that ran my whole session. My reply to him was... nothing. There's just no benefit to me typing anything here as it only stands to make him play or feel better with his taunts. Instead I mentally pictured him getting run over by a stampede of raging bulls.

ok... something happy instead.

Fabulous time in Texas. somehow my wife and I managed to successfully fly with two 4 year old girls and two 1 year old boys. And the hotel room for 5 days wasn't that bad either. it's expensive and difficult to fly and travel with a big family but it was so worth it as the kids had a blast. We went swimming, to the zoo, to an animal safari and played in my Aunt's gym. always good to see family and we do it often trying to get out there once or twice a year.

bummer that I missed the AVP meet again. One of these days I will be there. Perhaps I can fly down for three days or so for the next one. Good luck to anyone still playing in the WSOP...especially Scott Davies and Benton Blakeman!

wow... i have so much to update. June was a crazy month. to avoid posting a 30 page thesis I am just going to give some outlined cliff notes.

- Lock left Merge
1) This killed SNG volume on both networks.
2) Lock volume appears to be worse so I am currently playing mostly on Feltstars/Merge
3) I passed around my professional resume to sites trying to get a prime rakeback deal and a friend hooked me up. I can't share details.

- my hard drive died on my laptop
1) lost all my stats from April - June and am currently using my old crappy laptop. a friend is getting me a replacement hard drive through work. Right now I am playing without using HEM or anything.

- we lost power and I kept playing
1) I bought a UPS a couple months back and it saved me hundreds of $$. Storm hit and power died but my tables kept going. I had about 15 or so with 10 more registered. I immediately unregistered from all the new tourneys. 20 minutes later we lost Internet access (i'm guessing Verizon got slammed). I then pulled out an air card and got back in with two tables still running. managed to double up one before all cell access died.

- I only played 30 hours in June and scattered my play across Felt Stars, Black Chip (for a couple days) and Lock (a small handful). I'm mostly playing as "mrvookenmeister" under Felt Stars.
1) I had a pretty good month all things considered averaging $22 an hour
2) It's misleading as that included a money transfer bonus of $200
3) I had a good ROI which allowed me to keep my hourly up despite having to play mostly $10 and $20 SNGs ( I never had to play $10s before Lock split up).
4) short term I am going to make less money until volume comes back.

- I passed the 20 tables at a time range. I think the new software is allowing you to play more than 18 tables at once obviously. before June if I had 16-18 tables going it would not let me register for more tables. Well last night I had 21 tables open and I was registered for many more.
1) of course my crappy laptop started freaking out so I stopped adding tables. I also was playign mixed formats so a couple times I almost timed out as I had 5-6 tables yelling at me to make a decisions.
2) it appears that when I get my laptop fixed I might be able to successfully play 20 or more tables without losing much ROI (we'll see)

- I'm playing so many tables that I don't really look at HEM anyways as there is no time

- I can't get enough volume going at one time even when I drop all the way down to the $10 DoNs
1) I've started to mix in the top three paying turbo SNGs the past couple days.
2) this is harder as these games last longer and there are big ROI swings based on finish position so it helps to track players
3) I have no HUD right now so I'm playing blind.
4) DoNs are much easier as basic strat is to survive whereas in other SNGs you need to accumulate chips.
5) not sure if I will keep doing this... it all depends on what makes the most per hour.

- I continue to run 2% below my actual ROI. (though I'm even for July so far)

- I staked a bunch of people in the WSOP this year.
1) I'm losing money but don't regret it and am really enjoying following people.
2) all it takes is one good score to turn it into a profit.

- being a dad is great, loving the summer months on the water with the kids.

- this still turned out being long as hell but at least it took me no time to write it.

Here are my stats for June. They are mostly estimates since I lost my hard drive (and sharkscope is missing a ton of tourneys ever since the Merge upgrade).

appx 450 SNGs over 30 hours for an avg hourly profit of $22.

Never Underestimate the power of your opponents to do something stupid.

check out this hand history from last night. It actually turned a break even two hour session into a $100 profit.
