So this weekend I'm staying at Primm Valley Casino which most vegas natives know is in the middle of nowwhere. My friend and I are going in the same car and she is a big time blackjack player and wants to stay at Primm. I want to go to the strip cause Primm doesn't have NL holdem. Now if she drops me off at the strip I know she is gonna get drunk and not be able to pick me up. She always does this when we go out. So do any of you vegas natives know a cheap or efficient way to get back to Primm Valley from the Strip? Are there shuttles or buses?

Getting between Primm and the strip is not easy if you don't have a car.

I don't know of any shuttle or bus service that goes to Primm that the public can use (I've heard employees at the Primm casinos can ride a shuttle from Vegas). There might be some form of public transportation there, but I don't know what it is.

Will your friend let you borrow her car? That seems to make the most sense. She's probably not going to want to spend 30 mins each way driving you to/from the strip anyway.

Yeah, as AVP said, it would make a lot of sense if you took the car and saved your friend the trouble. Primm is pretty much all about drivers - California drivers. Only reason it exists is to serve Californians motoring up the 15 freeway, since it's just a patch of the desert that happens to be on the Nevada/California line. I don't even think Greyhound stops there on the way to LA. The local/regional bus transit system doesn't go any further than the South Point casino.

But I can think of one trick: go shopping. Or pretend to. There is a shopper's shuttle taking people from Vegas to the outlet mall down there, but they stop running southbound early in the afternoon, so you'd just have to play all night on the Strip and catch the first one back at nine in the morning from MGM.

I looked that up in order to ask a favor of you. While you're down there, do you suppose you might have a chance to look in on the poker room at Buffalo Bill's (the only poker in Primm) and report what you see on this site? I believe it's either a small stakes fixed limit or spread limit game, and there's understandably little information posted on it, none of it very recent (the thread is halfway down the second page of 'Other Poker Rooms - Non Las Vegas') and even less info on the casino/hotel's own website. I have an unnatural interest in peculiar obscure out of the way little poker joints.

sure. I was gonna check out their poker room anyway. Last time I was at Buffalo Bills I noticed that the poker room was not a real room but a few tables surrounded by a fence. There was no one in the room. I noticed that they didn't have NL but I'll check to see if they have it occasionally or something.

They run a spread limit game similar to Excaloburs. I have played there once, back in 2005.

Stateline (Primm) is now owned and operated by Terribles Hotel Group. YOu might want to check with Terribles to see if they run some short of shuttle.

the poker room was a real dump.
Primm could attract so much more tourists if they had a real poker room and NL games. I mean, during peak hours table games are so packed and people are always complaining that there ain't no NL games. It was 2-6 limit and the funny thing was that there was absolutely no one at the tables the whole time.
My friend ditched me on the strip and i ended up staying 3 more nights than anticipated. I played a lot of poker though.
