Hi everyone, my name is Evan and i am new to this communtity? i love the site and have been on it almost everyday since i booked my trip 3 months ago. I will be staying at caesers for three nights from jan 20 - 23. I would like to play about 25-35 hours of 1/2 - 1/3 nl, have a couple nice dinners, maybe a show and a night out to the club(s). Will $1700 - $1900 be enough to be comfortable out there for my wish list? thanks.
I would think so, but it kind of depends on how the poker goes -- seriously. I would separate my poker roll from my entertainment roll. Consider your poker one long session broken up and set stop limits. I'm sure someone else will go into more detail, but the first thing I'd do is figure out what my non-poker entertainment will cost, take that out, and work from there.
1000 big blinds bankroll for 25-35 hours of play? If you need that much bankroll to play that little you shouldn't be playing. If i got felted 3 times in 3 days I would fold up shop and go watch a show.
Personally, I don't think you need a bankroll of $3,000 to play 25 to 35 hours of 1/3 nl poker.
I've taken $1,200 for longer and been fine. I just make sure I don't blow through the $1,200 in the first session or two -- that's where the stop limits come in. Manage your money ( I think what I suggested is a good starting point) and you'll be fine.
All depends on how you play. If playing short doesn't affect your play then 1000 should be fine. If you cant play short then you will need more. All that matters Is how comfortable you feel playing short.

Great point, hopefully it goes better than that. I looks like I will have enough to be comfortable. Thanks for the responses.

since when is a poker BANKROLL a function of the number of hours played?
To me, a bankroll is something you have for regular play -- basically, for long-term at a certain level -- not something you need for a vacation with a limit to how much you will play. So, no, a bankroll is not a function of the hours played -- you just don't need a "bankroll" for a vacation. What you need is a set amount you can play with, and 1000 bb is not necessary for 25 to 35 hours of play.
I think we're really talking about a budget not a bankroll.
Your poker budget is a function of style of play, how well (or bad) you do and how willing you are to stop playing if things go south. I often bring something in the neighborhood of 1K for a 2 or 3 day trip. Have a backup plan if things go south...what are you going to do for 3 days if you lose 2 buyins (as much as 60% of your poker budget) in your first session or first day? Sports book? Limit games? ATM?
Are you going solo or w/ a significant other? Regular meals, a few nice meals, drinks, cabs, nightclub and show can easily be > 1K, especially if there are two of you. The days of old Vegas where food, drinks and entertainment are loss leaders for gamblers are way over.
