As a pro, you encounter nights when things go right and things go wrong. While each night can carry its own meritted feelings, there are some nights where you just shake you head. Tonight, I had one of those nights. I spent 6 hours playing the mix game and broke even. While to some this is a victory, to me it is a major defeat. I played 3 handed for about 2 hours with two guys that have absolutly no idea how to play not only poker, but limit poker. They would flop flushes and sets and not bet until the river after other scare cards came. They just never bet. I could never tell where I was at against them, because they never bet. In Omaha, one hand double suited aces and limped from the button. In badugi, one flat called after the second and third draw with a perfect 6. It was amazing. These guys were total ducks. All-in-all, they'd chase everything. In a 3/6 limit game, when my hands hold up the appropriate percentages, I'd have netted around 100 big bets. As I start thinking through the night, I had to have gotten sucked out on at LEAST 20 times (mostly by the same guy) and I watched his stack swell while staring at his cards wondering what could have gone through his head during the first round of betting. I'd look at unsuited, unconnecting cards on a double flop game with only a backdoor 6 high flush draw on one board and 3rd pair no kicker on the other board and wonder why he called 2 bets. The whole thing just baffles me. Why would he check-raised the sucker end of a straight on a flushed board in Omaha. Why? The whole thing was atrocious and bizarre and all the while, he just kept winning. I'm sure he had a fun time, but these are the nights that frustrate me the most as a guy who tries to keep paying bills with poker. Over and hour or two, sure, anybody can win. Over 6 hours??? Purely frustrating.

I gotta give props to my man Ron Paul and his hundreds of thousands of supporters. They raised a record shattering $6.3 million yesterday in commemoration of the anniversary of the Boston Tea Party. This puts Ron Paul's fundraising totals at the top of the GOP and rivaling all Dems, as well.
