Well, I just went and saw Bourne last night and absolutely loved it, so it got me to thinking about the threatrical releases that I've seen and what ones I liked.
Biggest surprise: Bourne Ultimatum. Great conclusion to the series with an unexpted finish!
Biggest Letdown: Spider Man 3. Too much all at once, terrible character developement without reasons for half the stuff that happened. Too many bad guys to concentrate on or even to try dislike.

The older I get, the more I hate going to the movie theater... it really takes something special to drag me out there.
So far this summer, there have been two movies that fit the bill. One for me, and one for my fiancee.
Transformers (me) - I'll give it a generous 8. I thought it was a great summer popcorn film, but it wasn't a 9 or 10....
Harry potter 3D (fiancee) - I'm not a huge Harry Pothead fan, but I'll give this one a generous 6.5. It was probably my 2nd or 3rd favorite of the series.
I caught Bourne Ultimatum at South Point. I was pleased with my movie experience. My wife has to drag me out to the movies usually so that is the only one i've seen in awhile.

The score for Transformers can be derived using a simple mathematical formula.
For males start with a base score of 10 for ages 16 and younger, then subtract one point for every decade of age the viewer is above that, rounding any portion of a decade upward to count as a full decade. So for my seven year old son it was a 10. For 41 year old me, it was a 7.
For females use the same scale but start with a base score of 9 for ages 13 and under, subtracting one point per decade as described above. Therefore for my ten year old daughter it was a 9 and for my 44 year old wife, merely a 5.

Are you suggesting coconuts migrate? You sir, are an idiot!
Ocean's 11 was a classic--absolutely scintillating writing with great acting. Ocean's 12 was a sad rip off of O-11 (a breakdancing French nobleman thief? please! this ain't the Cirque du Soleil ). Ocean's 13 brought the series back to respectability--more fun, better dialogue, better scam than O-12.
Ocean's 13 deserves a minimum of a 9.314159 rating.

Well you do know how Oceans 12 came to be right? The was a movie in script phase called Honor Amongst Thieves. Movie rights got sold and things happened. Then the studio figured "why not just make it an oceans 11 sequel and run with the cash cow that it is?" Alas, Oceans 12 was born. Some script re-tooling and additions of course and there you have "ok" sequel. Now 13 was really good and does adequately tie both 11 and 12 together into this one.
I saw Bourne and thought it was not that good at all - the first two were good, but this one seemed too herky jerky and all over the place and the best parts were in the previews so there was nothing left in the movie - but I was real tired when I watched it and that might have had an impact on my view of the movie... as it is I'd give it a 6
The other movie I went to recently was Live Free, Die Harder. I am a major fan of the whole Die Hard series and I think this one topped them all - I would give it an easy 10 or higher
