Clem, I thought you regularly played the Wynn when in Vegas. How did you miss it this time? How do you compare it to Aria?
I do play a fair amount at the Wynn and the ironic part of me not playing at the Wynn this past trip was I was staying at Encore for the first half of my trip. The one night instead of going back from the WSOP and playing at the Wynn, I stayed at the WSOP. The 2-5NL game was pretty good, although that was the night that the NHL awards were going on at the Wynn so I am guessing I might have missd out on some good games.
Aria currently remains me of the Wynn from 5-6 years ago. A few regulars, a lot of hotel quest with some money to burn through. NL games have always been good to me at Aria, just like the Wynn from 5-6 years ago. I find it easy to pick out who is who in spots like Bellagio, Wynn, and Aria. Only difference is the last 2 a little nicer to the players playing at our level. The advantages Aria has is better tournament numbers than the Wynn, and they seem to be able to get non NL games in the room. But 5-6 years ago 25-50 Mix was pretty regular at the Wynn.
The Wynn isn't drawing in the number of players it used to. Still think it is a quality room. I would imagine it would still get above a 4 in the ratings and it would be in my top 4 rooms which are:
Thanks, Clem. I recently stayed at the Tower Suites at the Wynn, which were very nice. My wife and I are considering the Encore for our next visit. What did you think of your stay there and how does it compare to staying at the Wynn?

A lot of similar features between Encore and the Wynn. Same type of beds, shower, etc. One difference is how they set up the TV which rotates between the "living room" and the bedroom. The living room is no where near the size of that at the Venetian or Palazzo, but it fits right in with the style of the Wynn and Encore. That design lets them say it is a "suite".
One thing I didn't realize was that the Encore was a little further down than I realized. I did the walk between the Wynn and Encore prior and it didn't seem that bad, but to walk from the Encore to any other property than the Wynn it took a little while to get to a TI or Palazzo/Venetian.
When I went very easy to check in and out at Encore compared to Aria which was the other property I stayed at this past trip.
I think I like Wynn/Encore design a little over the Palazzo/Venetian design mainly because the quality, but Palazzo/Venetian is right behind the Wynn/Encore. Hotels like Aria, Vdara, Bellagio would be behind those. Nothing beats the beds at Wynn and Encore.

3. Locals who haven't taken a sober breath since the Ford administration contemplating how to explain that they've just blown the rent money (again).
