Guilty Pleasure Confession: I love 'The Apprentice LA'

Hello all,

Yes, I admit it. I'm not proud of it, but it is what it is.

I really like this show. It is definately the only "reality" show I watch, and one of the few show I really look forward to every week. Ido not watch/follow Idol/Survivor/etc. And I think that Deal or No Deal is pure tripe. However, The Apprentice holds my interest highly, for some reason.

I didn't watch it from Season 2-5, unfortunately. However, I have S1 on DVD, and am following the current S6 religiously.

Anyone else Apprentice fans out there?

I was sad to see Tim go. Would rather have seen Nicole get the boot.

I would prefer the final two be Frank and Stefani, but have a feeling it will end up being Stef and Heidi.

Next week, they are in Vegas, at Trump International. I have been watching them build that thing for well over a year now, and it looks very impressive so far, despite its odd location.

I DVR it every Sunday. Donald Trump likes Heidi, I think she will win.

I am part of the DVR/TiVo club as well. In fact, I have this past sunday's ep on right now, while I work.

DVR/TiVo is worth its weight in gold IMO. Highly recommended!

Season 1 of the Apprentice was fresh, novel, and totally entertaining. It was by far my favorite reality tv show ever. But the show is total trash now. It has gotten progressively worse each season, and now it's just run of the mill reality-tv crap.

That said, I still DVR it, because as far as reality tv goes, it aint bad. And my fiancee still likes to watch it, so who am I to argue?

As for Tim getting fired, he was indeed a good candidate, with his Harvard education and big ideas, but he screwed himself by getting involved with that chick.

Now for the kicker. I was actually a finalist for season 2 of the Apprentice. I sent in a video, got a callback, flew out for interviews with the casting directors, etc. Obviously I didn't get the gig, and looking back that is probably a good thing. But I was very close.

Strong agreement about Tim. Big mistake by going full circle for Nicole.

That is so cool that you were a finalist for S2. You definately seem like the perfect type that could have won it (but if you had, good chance AVP wouldn't exist! :lol:

We just bought Mrs. AVP her own HDTV + DVR so she could record every reality TV show ever made also! It is SO NICE having only MY stuff on MY DVR.

Right now my DVR contains a solid mix of Poker After Dark, NFL Total Access, Welcome to the NFL, various NBA Basketball games, a show on Discovery about Praying Mantises and a couple of 24 episodes I haven't gotten to watch yet. Love'n it!

I have two very close friends that fall into this category. I simply can't believe it. HD programing is awesome. I'm "trying" to watch baseball right now in SD, and it's painful. Yeah, call me stuck-up. So what? I went to one of my friends' house a few months ago to play poker. He was bragging about his tv...which was nice....and he wasn't even utilizing HD. He just put it on the SD channels, and thought the tv made the picture better. Well, I grabbed the remote and went to channels in the 700-range (which he didn't even know existed. lol), and suddenly him and his girlfriend saw how awesome the picture was.

But, get this...I was over there recently and they got rid of their HD package. He said they didn't use it and the cost wasn't worth it. WHAT? No, the cost of your beautiful 60" HD DLP wasn't worth it if you aren't going to use it properly.

Sorry to hijack the thread.

One last thing...if you haven't experienced HD tv, please do so. You'll love it. Sure, TV isn't everything...but, when you watch it, you should atleast watch the best possible picture.

I also live in Dallas (McKinney to be exact), and I saw that HD local news the other day. I have to say I will only watch that news. I love HD. My wife watches all kinds of shows, and each time, I come in I have to check to see if it's on HD or not, and then switch it over.

I have Direct...switched from DISH. NFL SUnday ticket with 6+ games in HD each weekend. Like Heaven. I'm going to setup some tables in the gameroom and turn it into a poker room...add a few more tv's and invite the boys over for Sunday football each week in the fall. Can't wait.

Too bad that Apprentice does not broadcast in HD.

I also love my HD TV (50" Panasonic Plasma). Even if you hate the show, CSI Miami is worth watching just because of the incredible HD broadcasting.

Doug made me think of another goof OT topic. I will be following suit!

Agreed. I can't watch it much anymore because of the little kiddos in the house. I need to upgrade my TIVO to an HD one. I TIVO CSI, but I can't watch it because it's in SD...lol. So snooty of me.
