too bad there is no one to exchange those Skalansky bucks with since we all have an excess amount...lol.

Wait about 30 min at IP, didn't look like another table was going to start, or people leave the 1 they had running anytime soon. Went back to Mirage and took Vook's advice and ran better. I limped 44 in EP, and 6 of us see the flop, and I flop the set. I check it hoping a LAGGY villian in lp bets it for me. He leads out 15, I smooth, couple of other callers. I check the turn, I don't remember his bet, but I check raised him a decent amount. I'm all-in on river and he calls, no idea with what.

I should have quit a lot sooner and booked the ~150 win, would have been good for the confidence, but I didn't, only +35 for the session. Got in a bad spot when there was this young kid that was at our table only for this large donator, donator limped, kid raised to 20, I have AKs, and reraise to 75, he flats. Flop is 558r, he checks to me, and I get a little worried now, and check behind. He is pretty confused right now, I almost fired out a 100 cbet. Turn is a blank, he fires 50, and I call, still not exactly sure where he might be, and it looked like a stab at the pot with AK or similar as well. River goes check-check, and he tables KK. I was crushed, but didn't have his range that narrow on the turn, and was getting 4-1 on the call. Still, felt I played a lot better.

After meeting up with the wife, I went to Bellagio just to say I played poker there. There was one guy just donking around at the table (BJ player just having some fun) and I ended up getting stupid early with top pair when he sucked out a straight, I rivered trips, and paid off a river bet after he check-min raised me on the turn when his gutshot straight hit. Never got much more traction, and down another 200.

So, I was at 158, -200 at Trop, for -42, +35 at Mirage for -7, and -200 at Bellagio.

I'm really starting to think that my inability to play online before my trip has set my playing ability back some. I just don't have fresh experience for how to approach different situations. I'm also not being displined enough, I'm playing too many hands OOP, and not always seeing when cbets are going to be successful, and when the table is just going to call them down. I need to move back to value town. I don't think I should be too upset, as probably 300 or more of my losses were when I got my money in good.

When did the drunken children characters start on the strip? That is pretty sad right there.

You know when you are looking around the table wondering who the fish is....

Wife and I head up to Harrah's for a nice dinner at The Range Steakhouse. When then checked out The Improv, headliner was Joe Starr, very funny guy.

Back to the Excal because my wife has to get to bed. I go back up strip and try my hand at the Flamingo. I was on the bad end of flush over flush. Making a comeback, when a drunk sits at the table from a broken table. First hand he raises to 10, one caller, I flat with AK, couple of other callers. Flop KQx, he leads for 25, I reraise to 75, he shoves, has me covered. I tank, and tank hard. Everything is screaming to me to fold, he has KQ, but I can't let go of the fact that he is drunk. I finally call, he flips KQ, I don't improve.

Another 400 down.

Donk off 65 at Bills, then another 20 in a slot machine before heading to room.

Down close to 800 for the week now. Wasn't in my plans. I think I'm done now, and flight doesn't leave until 11 Friday.

If I play again this trip, it will be extremely nitty. Position, position, position. No flatting raises, no moves, etc.

I'm pretty disappointed with my play since the downswing happened. I've lacked any real discipline, and I think I can attribute that to no longer playing online.

Final update.

Wednesday I just hung around the hotel room, and then wife and I hit the Tournament of Kings that evening. We had seen a similar show around LA several years ago, and she wanted to go again. Good for what it was, I can probably last another 10 years before seeing another one.

Thursday was my wife's free day. We headed downtown. Wife played craps at the Golden Nugget and encouraged me to play some poker.

I sit down at a 2/4 limit table waiting on a 1/2 game. The 2/4 game was actually stead if small profit for me. Regardless, I'm drinking Bud Lights. Move to the 1/2 and I'm pretty nitty, but honestly, not really, where I had opportunities I took them, but I could now see after stepping back a bit how I was getting involved too many times out of position. I was holding to a modest 20 profit when my wife was ready to move on, but I had a beer coming and stuck it out for a little while longer. Villian in front raised to 4 pre, I look down at AcQc, 3 bet to 20. Heads up to a flop of TXX two spades, one club, checks to me, I cbet 30, he raises 100 more and I fold ofc, he shows pocket tens.

Oh well.

Anyhow, leave Vegas on Friday, 70 and Sunny, land in Cleveland to 32 and Snow showers.

Back to my day job until Horseshoe Cleveland opens May 14th.
