This is actually my local room (i.e. the room I live closest to).
Earlier this month I played (and won) a tournament here and had a great time ($50 out the door, including one RB for 3K total chips, 20min levels).
Though I still prefer The Strip for my general poker needs, the fact that Santa Fe is 2 miles from me (5-7 minute drive) vs the Strip at 11.5 miles, and a 30-45 minute drive, it is sometimes too good to pass up despite the typical local style action.
The NL game is generally very tight passive with a few TAGs thrown in there, and a couple LAGs. The 4/8LHE game runs hot or cold depending on which locals are sitting in it. There is one that is a LAG maniac that pushes every pot to the limits. Win a couple of those (esp with the half kill), and you can do better then the NL table.
Overall, it is a nice, comfortable room, but one that I only go too when I am too tired to go to the Strip (or want to go to the only room where I can be looking at my first hand in under 15 minutes).

14 tables are in the room. I have some pics that I"ll post soon.
They are spreading 2/4, 3/6, 4/8 limit holdem. They had an interest list for 2/4 O8, and they had a 1/2 NL game as well. In total, 8 tables were running, 6 of them were 2/4, one 4/8, and one 1/2 NL game. Lots of open seats for the 2/4 games everywhere, but a list long enough for a second NL game were up. I talked with a friend of mine who got sent up there to deal from GVR to help with the opening. 16 dealers for 8 games and they weren't opening another NL game. Why, I have no idea.

I updated the OP to reflect the table number.
Glad to hear that the room is getting more action and as word spreads, might become more on par with some of the better Stations rooms.
The growing pains are expected with the brand new room, but it is odd that they were unable/unwilling to open a new table with that list.
I think it needs to be enjoyed whiole it can, as once Aliante Station opens in a couple years, I have a bad feeling that some of the soft NL money there is going to go up the road.

It has an odd layout.he entrance is from the sportsbook side, but it really should have multiple entrances. The front podium/cashier is hidden away and out of sight
They had 6/12 and 8/16 interest lists all afternoon on Sunday, but neither had started by 6pm. A dealer told me it had been going over the weekend but I still have not actually seen it.
This is my first time here and i like what I'm reading. Someone needs to go over and check out the New Santa Fe Poker room. It's really nice. It's almost the same size as Red Rock but with less tables (14) and not as crowded. You almost feel like it's Red Rock. They added on / remodeled that whole area, along with a brand new sports book and buffet. Station Casinos are really come a long way from their beginnings, can't say the same for Coast Casinos/Boyd Gaming. They have the usual 2-4, 4-8 w/ 1/2 kill, and even sometimes a 3-6, along with the 1-2 and 2-5 NL. Competition is mostly locals, but not as cutthroat as Red Rock. Have had 2 big scores there. Dealers / Mgt friendly and competent for the most part. Cocktail service seems decent, but I usually don't order drinks when I play. I just wish they would stop using Copag cards and go back to KEM's (but all stations use them) but other than that, it's a tremendous upgrade from the old room. Just wanted all to know about the remodel. It's a real nice room.
