The tournaments were advertised on their big highway flashing marquee last week. SInce I was staying there I decided to try the 10AM tournament.
$23 buy-in filled three tables. Average age probably 70. Almost all locals. One guy looked at me like I had a third eye in my forehead. The big surprise was that this was a LIMIT tournament (500 in chips with starting 5/10 blinds). Had trouble adjusting strategy and busted just before the first break.

gonna be in LV for a week at the end of this month and probably spending a LOT of time at Sam's Town. dumb question, but wondering if that property is a Coke or Pepsi bldg. anyone who has been there recently, feel free to chime in. I've already tried looking it up on VTandT.com but they don't show Sam's Town on their "coke vs pepsi" map.

If I recall correctly, Sam's Town is a coke property. I was out there this past July.
Do they still spread the 1-5 stud game and if so what time does it usually start and end?
thanks, Tierscore

My Mom wants to go out to Sam's Town while we're there in May-June. I figured I'd check out the poker room while I was there. Has anyone been there recently? Any new details on game spread and players?

I walked into the place a few weeks ago to see a friend who is dealing there.
At the time the weekly freeroll was going on. 27 players. They chopped it 26 ways. Average age of the players 1,212,003 years. A little bit of me thinks it would be great fun to qualify for the freeroll and refuse the chop to watch these guys go nuts. I don't recall a cash game going at all at that time.
I would not expect to find anything bigger than the $2-$4 limit game. i don't even know if the stud game still goes on a daily basis.
